Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving January 15th 2026 to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Chloe to our trip for the right home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Her adoption fee, along with her adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Chloe ultimately finalizing her adoption. Chloe is a truly special little soul, and one of those dogs that leaves a lasting impression on everyone who meets her. She is a mini doodle weighing 20 lbs, full grown and at a perfect, healthy weight. She is naturally leggy and lean, giving her an elegant, athletic look that matches her confident yet gentle personality. Born on 10/4/24, she has already grown into herself beautifully. Her mix is one we honestly fell in love with the moment we learned it. Chloe’s mom was a 25 lb poodle and her dad was a shihpoo (Shih Tzu/poodle mix), and the result is such a unique and stunning combination. We adore both breeds individually, but seeing them come together in this mini doodle form has been an absolute joy. Her coat is hypoallergenic and low-shedding, with a soft wavy texture that is not only beautiful but also much easier to maintain. She is phenomenal at the groomers and truly enjoys being pampered and looking her best. Chloe is wonderful with other dogs and does great with cats as well. She genuinely loves everyone she meets, but children hold a very special place in her heart. She is gentle, affectionate, and naturally drawn to them in the sweetest way. She came to us from a very young couple who were expecting their first child and navigating some big life transitions. As they prepared to move out on their own, the financial realities of pet fees and the uncertainty of becoming new parents made the heartbreaking decision clear to them. They wanted Chloe to continue thriving in a stable, secure environment, and trusted us to help her find a family who could offer her just that. She is fully house trained and follows a great routine, happily going outside every 3–4 hours. She is crate trained and currently sleeps in her crate at night, but she would transition easily to a cozy dog bed beside you if that’s what her new family prefers. Chloe walks beautifully on leash and truly enjoys her walks, and she is an excellent traveler who does great in the car. One of her most endearing quirks is her love for clothes. She has been dressed in coats and sweaters since she was little, and if she spots one of her outfits nearby, she will absolutely ask you to put it on her — it’s impossible not to laugh. She has so much character and spunk wrapped up in her beautiful heart. She loves to snuggle and be close to her people, yet she also has an independent side that we really admire. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but it never takes long before she opens up and becomes a loyal friend for life. Chloe is not a barker unless she is communicating with you — asking for a treat, a walk, or simply letting you know she needs something. She’s perfectly happy lounging on the couch and watching movies all afternoon, then eagerly hopping up and being ready for a walk right after. She truly is a gem in every sense of the word. Adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/chloe-4 This includes her spay, vaccines, microchip and registration, an antibiotic injection given to aid in healing after her spay, a full exam with our vet (which went perfectly), as well as the months of care, training, and grooming she has received while with us.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving by January 9th 2026 to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Holly to our trip for the right home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Her adoption fee will be due the day we arrive in person with Holly ultimately finalizing her adoption 💗 Holly’s story is one that stays with you long after you hear it. Born on 5/15/23, she is a beautiful Cockapoo with a soft, hypoallergenic poodle coat and the gentlest spirit. But the life she lived before coming into our rescue was anything but gentle. Holly spent her young life with a breeder who viewed her only through the lens of profit. She was bred repeatedly until her body gave out, and when she could no longer produce, she was thrown away without a thought for what she had endured. What we didn’t know until she was surrendered to us was just how much pain she had been silently carrying. Both of her back legs were severely injured. Her hip was completely dislocated. Her knee on the conjoining back legs was also dislocated and unnaturally twisted. Her knee had been breaking down from the strain of trying to survive with barely any functional mobility. She had been living this way for far too long, her suffering overlooked by those who were meant to care for her. Even so, Holly arrived with a sweetness that stopped us in our tracks — a quiet gratitude, a willingness to trust, a softness that showed just how much love she still had left to give despite everything she had been through. We moved quickly. Our orthopedic surgeon performed an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) to stabilize the weight-bearing leg. Once she began healing, she underwent another complex and specialized surgery to reconstruct her knee — a surgery that gave her not just comfort, but a true chance at a pain-free life. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, received a complete dental cleaning, and has been monitored through countless exams, x-rays, medications, and follow-up appointments over the course of many months. Every step forward was one she fought for — and one we fought right alongside her. Today, after more than $10,000 in medical care, months of recovery, and the unwavering commitment of everyone who has loved her through this journey, Holly has finally been cleared by our vet to begin looking for a forever home of her own. And she is so, so deserving. Holly moves gently and confidently now, free from the constant pain that once overshadowed her life. She enjoys soft play, leisurely walks, cozy spaces, and quiet moments with the people she trusts. She is an incredibly tender girl whose heart opens fully when she feels safe. She bonds deeply, listens beautifully, and carries herself with a calm elegance that makes you instinctively want to protect her. She does wonderfully with other gentle, respectful dogs and would thrive with a calm canine companion or as the only dog in a home that offers her softness and stability. She isn’t a dog who needs chaos, constant activity, or a busy lifestyle. She is a dog for a peaceful home — one built on love, routine, patience, and understanding. She is a companion for someone who values the emotional connection a dog can bring, someone who sees her not just for where she is now, but for what she survived to get here. Her journey has been long, emotional, and incredibly costly, but every ounce of effort has led to this moment — where she finally gets to be considered for the kind of life she should have always had. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/holly-1 Her adoption fee is placed at our highest tier, not because it reflects her worth — that could never be measured — but because it acknowledges the extraordinary medical care she required to reclaim her life. Though we have invested well over $10,000 in her surgeries and treatment, this fee simply helps us continue offering the same chance to future dogs who come to us broken, discarded, or in desperate need of intervention. We have complete medical records and receipts documenting every part of her journey. If you feel drawn to Holly… if her resilience, her grace, and her quiet strength speak to you… if you believe you are the person who can offer her a lifetime of comfort, gentleness, and unwavering love… then we would be honored to hear from you. Holly has waited her whole life to be someone’s cherished girl. Whoever she chooses will be receiving one of the most special souls to ever pass through our rescue — a dog whose heart survived what her body could not, and who is finally ready for the kind of home where she is treasured, safe, and loved beyond measure.
