After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Story
Meet Simone, a 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel who weighs 30 pounds and is equal parts sweetheart, explorer, and professional snuggle bug. This happy girl has never met a stranger and approaches life with curiosity, confidence, and a wagging tail. Simone loves being part of whatever is happening around her. She's the kind of dog who will happily follow you from room to room, supervise your daily activities, and then curl up in your lap when it's time to relax. One of her favorite pastimes is keeping an eye on the neighborhood from the window, though she isn't shy about announcing when she spots people passing by. She also loves toys, especially stuffed ones, and gets so excited during playtime! Curious by nature, Simone enjoys exploring every nook and cranny she can find. Her foster mom affectionately compares her to a little goat because she's always climbing on, under, and around things in search of her next adventure. Whether she's investigating the house, playing with toys, or zooming around the yard, Simone brings plenty of fun wherever she goes. This smart girl is house trained, does great in her crate, and knows "sit," "shake," and "lay." She rides well in the car and has done well with small dogs, cats, and every person she's met. She hasn't been around children or larger dogs in her foster home, but her friendly, social personality suggests she'll make friends wherever she goes. She can get excited and jump up to greet people, and she occasionally lacks a little spatial awareness, but it's all part of her charming, enthusiastic approach to life. Simone is looking for a family committed to helping her reach a healthier weight through proper diet and exercise so she can feel her very best. As a Cocker Spaniel, she'll also need routine ear care to keep those adorable floppy ears healthy and comfortable. If you're searching for a cheerful companion who will make you laugh, keep you company, and gladly snuggle up at the end of the day, Simone is ready to claim a spot in your heart and on your lap. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Loki — a 13-pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Cocker Spaniel mix (Cockalier)with stunning blue eyes, a heart full of love, and a strong belief that attention should be directed toward him whenever possible. At 9 years old, Loki finds himself searching for a new family after his beloved mama could no longer care for him. While this transition hasn't been easy, Loki is ready to give his whole heart to someone new. And make no mistake—when Loki loves you, he LOVES you. He forms deep attachments to his people and thrives when he can be close to them throughout the day. Did we mention his eyes? Because they truly are breathtaking. Loki's gorgeous blue eyes have a way of stopping people in their tracks, but it's his sweet, affectionate personality that makes them stay. Loki adores attention and is happiest when he's included in whatever his people are doing. Whether it's lounging beside you on the couch, following you around the house, soaking up affection, or simply being part of the family routine, he wants to be involved. He's wonderful with dogs, cats, men, women, and children, making him an easy addition to many households. He enjoys spending time outdoors exploring and playing, but he's equally content curling up indoors for a cozy snooze once the day is done. Loki walks beautifully on leash and rides well in the car. His only request is that he's safely seat-belted near you rather than tucked away in a crate. Being close to his people is important to him. Now, there is one thing potential adopters should know: Loki occasionally enjoys the sound of his own voice. (Mainly if he is left alone for too long) He's not shy about expressing himself when he feels the need, so a home without shared walls will be the best fit. Apartments, condos, and townhomes are not ideal for this vocal little gentleman. Loki would love a family where someone is home more often than not. After all he's been through, he's looking for stability, companionship, and plenty of love. In return, he'll offer unwavering devotion, endless affection, and those unforgettable blue eyes gazing at you like you're the most important person in the world. Because to Loki, you will be. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Better yet, help speed up the adoption process by also sending us your vet records, and having your references e-mail us at Deebysrescue@gmail.com For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm
