Story
Please contact Mamie Hall (mamie.hall@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet. This sweet fluffy boy is looking for his forever home!KODAK WILL NEED A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Kodak        Best Guess for Breed:   Cocker Spaniel/Poodle     Best Guess for Age:    2.5 years        Gender:    Male Approximate Weight:   18 pounds  Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have not seen him with cats or kids, but he can be tested.  Currently Living At: Shelter, Kodak needs a foster or forever home! Special Adoption Considerations: Kodak is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Kodak is Looking For: His forever family! Through no fault, this sweetie needs a new home. He's eager to once again have his own humans for sniffy walks and romps and all the adventures they can dream up! Most of all, he wants to be safe and loved for all hia days. In exchange, he promises loyal companionship and adoring gazes. What do you say? Was Kodak born to be part of your life? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once Kodak has spent some time with his foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Jackson. My owner is no longer able to physically or financially take care of me so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. I have some medical issues that need to be fixed. My ears have been chronically infected for a long time, and I now need TECA surgery. Even though my ears are hurting, I am a good boy who loves belly rubs. I am house trained, a good listener, and a good watch dog. I like to sniff and explore, go for walks, and car rides. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. I am loving all of the TLC that I am getting from the wonderful staff at the vet. I am feeling so much better. I am walking well. I am alert, happy and back to my wiggle-butt self. I am gaining weight, and my fur feels so much better. I still need some time for my skin to heal completely, but I am moving forward. I am still looking for a place to rest my head. I want a home to make the remainder of my senior years as comfortable as possible and give me all of the love I missed for the first 11 years of my life. Can you help me? MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone. My name is Toby, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am a senior, and I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I have NOT been well cared for. I am underweight. I have severe dental disease. I have a skin infection and an enlarged heart and a grade 5 of 6 heart murmur. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. I need someone who can show me that people can be loving and caring. I need a retirement home where someone can feed me healthy food, give me my medications to help me feel comfortable, and love me like no one else ever has. My foster says that I am loving and playful. I want to be around people to get lots of pets and snuggles and give kisses. I am very spunky and energetic for my age. I walk well on a leash, but I do like to chase everything: rabbits, cats, bird and bugs. I am house trained. I am still waiting for my new home. Would you give an old girl a chance? MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Gracie, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I was no longer a breeder dog. I lived in the house. However, it was decided I was no longer welcome in the home so I was kicked out of the house and sent to the barn. I was no longer welcome there so I was sent to rescue. You can see in my photo that I was horribly matted and you can barely see my legs. The CSAC volunteer said that I am happy, friendly, calm, alert, curious and trusting. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be thrown away because I am too old to love. ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Lady. My owner felt home was no longer a safe place for me, so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. Every one says I am a sweet heart. I am house trained, get along with other dogs, cats and kids. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
