Story
Fenced yard required Fostered near Britton, MI https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/2054 Murray is a smart, energetic, and affectionate young Collie with a big personality and love for his people. He enjoys treats, toys, and a good game of fetch, and he’s always eager to learn, making him a rewarding match for an active home that can offer structure, playtime, and continued guidance as he grows into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. This handsome boy is fully housebroken, comfortable in a crate, and settles well when left alone. He has learned not to destroy his toys, is improving with waiting at doors, and comes when called. Murray is highly intelligent and loves to learn—he even figured out how to let himself back inside by using a lever-style doorknob! Murray thrives on attention and affection. He loves to be part of whatever his family is doing. One of his favorite things is greeting his foster mom with morning snuggles. He responds well to treats, chews, toys, and calm, consistent routines. He navigates stairs with ease and has done well with grooming after overcoming his initial fear of the high-velocity dryer. Murray gets along well with other dogs and cats. He enjoys canine companionship but is still learning appropriate play manners and can be a bit exuberant at times. A family willing to provide supervision, structure, and continued guidance will help him continue making great progress. Because Murray can be sensitive to certain sights and sounds outside of the fence, he would do best in a quieter environment with minimal outside distractions. A dog savvy, active home with a securely fenced yard, clear expectations, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment will be ideal for this bright young Collie. Murray is a happy, affectionate Collie who is ready to share his heart with a family of his own. With continued guidance, patience, and love, he will grow into a wonderful companion and a loyal best friend for years to come. Story
Hello there! This beautiful dog is Olive. She is 12-13 years old. I have had her for 10 years after rescuing her from a shelter. Unfortunately her story before the shelter was sad. She was abused and heavily neglected. They made her fight for her food, had her tied to a chain that dug into her neck and beaten on her to the point that she was terrified of anyone who approached her. Thankfully, my sister adopted her from the shelter for my niece as an emotional support animal. It was all wonderful until the effects of the abuse started to show in her behavior. At the time, we couldn’t have that around my niece. So I took her in and worked with her as much as I could to get these habits out of her system. She has come a LONG WAY. Now she CAN be around others. She’s such a sweetheart and she’s so full of life, it’s almost like she forgets she’s 12. I wish I could keep her but unfortunately I have no other options since time isn’t in my favor at the moment. She needs someone with PATIENCE.
