Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
6 FOOT FENCE REQUIRED Say hello to Kelly, a beautiful sable and white petite Collie/Sheltie mix. Kelly has piercing amber eyes that will follow every move you make. Kelly comes with a gentle soul and a heart full of potential. At just about two years old, Kelly is still discovering the world and figuring out where she fits in it. Life has not given her a lot of experiences yet, but what she lacks in confidence she makes up for in sweetness and quiet devotion. Kelly is shy and a bit skittish in new situations, so she’ll need a securely fenced yard where she can feel safe and learn at her own pace. She would truly blossom with a confident, well-adjusted canine companion to show her the ropes and help her grow mentally and emotionally. With patience, consistency, and kindness, Kelly will reward her person with loyalty, sensitivity, and a deep bond that only a thoughtful dog like her can offer. She knows her person is out there, someone who will see past her uncertainty and recognize the incredible dog she is becoming. If you are looking for a gentle companion and have the time and heart to help a young collie build confidence, Kelly is ready to begin that journey with you. If Kelly strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Kelly is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Kelly is being fostered in Ohio (Columbus area) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Story
FENCE REQUIRED Meet Jasper, a five-year-old rough Collie boy with a striking sable head and white factored coat that makes him truly one of a kind. Like the semi-precious gemstone he’s named after, Jasper is all about quiet strength and steady presence. The stone has long been associated with grounding energy, loyalty, and protection, and this boy reflects that beautifully. Jasper is thoughtful rather than flashy, observant before he acts, and deeply devoted once he knows he belongs. He has the calm confidence of a dog who understands his world and is ready to share it with the right family. Jasper the gemstone is known as a nurturer and a stabilizer, and our Jasper fits that description well. He enjoys routine, appreciates a peaceful environment, and thrives when he has a trusted person by his side. He’s the kind of dog who would happily walk beside you, lie nearby while you work, or quietly keep watch over his home. There is a gentle wisdom about him that comes with maturity, making him an ideal companion for someone who values connection over chaos. Just as no two pieces of jasper stone are ever exactly alike, this boy’s look and personality are wonderfully unique. His sable head and crisp white coat set him apart, but it is his steady heart that truly shines. Jasper is ready to be someone’s constant, loyal companion, offering years of devotion, calm companionship, and understated beauty. If you are looking for a rare gem rather than something mass-produced to be your one and only, Jasper may be the perfect addition to your life. If Jasper strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Jasper is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
6 FOOT FENCE REQUIRED Meet Remi 7-year-old Rough Collie girl. Mahogany Remi is a one-of-a-kind collie with her own soundtrack and absolutely no interest in following anyone else’s rhythm. She is fiercely independent, proudly opinionated, and fully convinced the world works best when she is in charge. Remi loves to communicate and is well known for her long, deep, meaningful conversations with her person. If you talk back, she will happily keep the discussion going. She is a true conversationalist who enjoys engaging with her people. Remi can live with small dogs, but she must be the queen. She is not looking to share leadership and prefers to rule her domain with confidence and dignity. Although undeniably a diva, Remi only tolerates light, gentle grooming. She prefers minimal fuss. Being her own biggest fan, she has forgotten some basic manners over time, so remedial training is a must. With patience and consistency, she has the potential to do very well. A secure yard is required, as loud noises can frighten her. She startles easily and needs a safe, contained space where she can feel secure. Remi would do best with an experienced adopter who appreciates a strong-willed, talkative dog, can provide structure and training, and offers a calm home with secure fencing. She is not for everyone, but for the right person, Remi will be a memorable and engaging companion. If Remi strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Remi is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
FENCE PREFERRED Sam I am Sam. Yes, that Sam. Sam I am, and I am sensational! If you were to look up “Collie” in the dictionary, I’m fairly certain you’d find my picture smiling back at you. I am a sable and white rough collie born in 2018, right at that perfect age where life experience meets joyful energy. I love dogs, cats, kids, and people of all kinds. If you have a heartbeat and a kind spirit, we’ll probably get along just fine. I am a true gentleman of the house: fully housebroken, leash trained, and perfectly capable of relaxing without a crate, because honestly, I know how to behave. I am always ready for an adventure and would happily hike miles in any direction with you, tail wagging and heart full. I do ask for a fenced yard, not because I’m naughty, but because my enthusiasm for life can sometimes get the better of me and I believe it’s better to be safe than sorry. At this stage in my life, I’m confident, affectionate, and at my absolute peak, ready to be someone’s loyal companion, trail buddy, and best friend. If Sam strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait!
