Story
Meet Nash! At 5 years old and 30 pounds, Nash is a handsome Collie mix with a heart every bit as big as his goofy grin. This sweet boy`s journey hasn`t been the easiest—he was found as a stray and arrived at the shelter severely underweight. Thanks to the love and dedication of our volunteers, Nash has been steadily gaining weight and showing everyone what an incredible dog he truly is.Nash is the perfect combination of friendly, gentle, and curious. He loves meeting new people, enjoys exploring the world around him, and is always up for an adventure. Despite his playful personality, he`s surprisingly quiet and well-mannered. He walks like an absolute dream on leash, is wonderfully polite, and is happiest simply spending time with his favorite people. One of Nash`s favorite pastimes is chasing tennis balls! With his medium energy level, he`s happy to enjoy a fun game or a nice walk before settling in for cuddles on the couch. During his time in a foster home, Nash proved what a wonderful housemate he is. He`s housetrained, doesn`t bark much, has excellent manners, and is incredibly affectionate. He`s the kind of dog who fits right into family life.Nash does have Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) and a vitamin B12 deficiency, but don`t let those big names scare you—they`re very manageable. EPI simply means his pancreas doesn`t produce enough digestive enzymes to properly process food. To help him stay healthy, he gets a digestive enzyme powder mixed into each meal and takes a daily chewable vitamin B12 tablet. These are lifelong medications, but they`re easy to give, and with his special diet and routine, Nash can live a happy, healthy life and thrive in his forever home.Compatibility with dogs, cats, and children is currently unknown. He has shown great potential with other dogs while at the shelter. If you have a resident dog, we`ll schedule a meet-and-greet so everyone can get acquainted before adoption.Nash is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, allowing you to bring him home while he completes his routine veterinary care with our shelter veterinarian. He is already neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for heartworm disease. It`s a wonderful opportunity for him to settle into home life while finishing the final steps toward adoption.Could Nash be the missing piece your family has been waiting for? If you`re ready for a loyal best friend with impeccable manners, a lo

Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. **Hi, I’m Callie! ❤️** I’m a happy 18-month-old Collie mix girl weighing about 50 pounds, and I’m looking for my forever family! I have these big pointy ears that I love to perk up when I see people, a fluffy sable coat that’s super soft for cuddles, and I’m almost always smiling with my tongue hanging out because life is just so good. I’m the gentlest girl you’ll ever meet — I really don’t have a mean bone in my body. I’m sweet, calm, and easygoing. I love everyone I meet and I’m great with kids and other pets. I already know all the important house rules: I’m fully housebroken, I’m a champion at using the dog door, and I’m super chill in my kennel when you need me to be. I just want to be near my people, whether that’s snuggling on the couch or going for nice walks. I promise to be your loyal, loving companion who fills your home with wags, cuddles, and plenty of smiles. All I want is a family who will love me back and give me the forever home I’ve been dreaming about. Please know that by adopting me, you’re committing to giving me a safe, loving home with good veterinary care and lots of patience while I settle in. In return, I’ll give you my whole heart every single day. Ready to bring me home? I can’t wait to meet you! 🐾

Story
Kujo is a handsome 13-year old male Collie/Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 16th 2026 by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden. Kujo was placed on safekeeping at that time and was surrendered by his family to HSOV on July 8th so that Kujo could find a home with another family. Kujo has a brown-and-white medium haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a white muzzle, and short floppy ears. These photos of Kujo were taken on June 16th when one of awesome volunteers (Robert) accompanied Kujo for outdoor pictures. Kujo always had a happy 'smile' on his beautiful face and thoroughly enjoyed attention/loving from Robert. Kujo defies the chronological age on his kennel card and certainly doesn't look (or act) his age. Kujo weighs approximately 70 lbs and walks well on leash. Kujo participated in an off-site dog walk with HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos on July 12th, and he was an absolute social butterfly that day. Kujo did well on the car ride, and he was a 'team player' with other HSOV dogs who enjoyed their afternoon walk. We've learned from Kujo's previous family that he does NOT like cats and will cause them bodily harm or worse :( .. So Kujo needs to be in a home where he will have absolutely no contact with kitties. In Kujo's defense, he was attacked by a cat when he was a youngster and that cat caused severe damage to one of Kujo's eyes which may have traumatized him. This senior citizen would love to find a special someone who would offer him a fabulous home where he could live his golden retirement years being loved and spoiled to his heart's content.

Story
Please contact Kyrsten (kliming06@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Pineapple is a 5-month-old Terrier/Collie mix who weighs about 18 pounds. She is on the shorter side than her sister and she's expected to grow to around 35 pounds when she's full grown.  Pineapple is a little more shy than her sister at first but give her a few minutes and she is so loving and playful. She is loving chew toys and bones. She loves frolicking around in the backyard with her sister, since being in a house vs a shelter they are having so much fun coming our of their shells and being puppies! Pineapple is very food motivated which has made training easier and loves treats! She loves to be cuddled up on the couch with you and long naps. Mango and Pineapple are new to their foster home, they both have just started bell potty training. As with any young puppies, they need continued house training, basic obedience, and plenty of positive reinforcement to help them grow into a confident, well-mannered companion.July 26, 2026, 6:58 am
