Story
PHYSICAL FENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Calling all senior Collie lovers! Meet Kona, a beautiful 9-year-old Sable and White female. Kona came into Tri-State Collie Rescue as an owner surrender. At almost 9 years old, this sweet girl is beginning a new chapter through no fault of her own. Her owner is moving in with her daughter and, unfortunately, is unable to take Kona along Kona has lived as a much-loved companion, but her owner recently discovered that she is not comfortable around active toddlers, so we’ll be looking for a quieter home without young children where she can feel safe and settled. Kona’s owner had her groomed before coming into rescue, and unfortunately there was a misunderstanding with the groomer that resulted in her beautiful coat being shaved. The good news is that the Collie is still under there—and that beautiful coat will grow back! For now, Kona will spend some time with her foster family so we can get to know her personality, preferences, and what type of home will be the best fit for her. If Kona strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don’t wait! And if Kona is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Kona is being fostered in IN (Indianapolis area) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Arnie’s foster reports that he is a true collie companion that is quiet, dignified, loyal, and not intrusive. He is an absolute stunner, who is well built with beautiful coloring and an easy-care coat. He does not demand attention but will seek attention. While he may be on the timid side when he first meets new people, he would flourish in a home that is willing to be patient while he settles in, because he is worth it! He is house trained, great with other dogs, has not had experience with cats, and is good with kids who are 10 years and older. He might be good with younger kids and/or cats, but he hasn’t been around them, so we just don’t know! He has not needed to be crated but is typically put in a smaller room when his foster leaves, although they think he could probably roam just fine! He actually enjoys spending time in this area and will sleep there at night. Photos are pending, but you will want to put an application in ASAP!Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.September 3, 2026, 8:12 pm
