Story
JosieFemaleAge: 1 YearWeight: 47 lbsBreed: Collie Mix Hi, I’m Josie! I’m a sweet, happy girl with an easygoing personality and a big love for people. My favorite place in the world is right next to my humans—honestly, if I could be velcroed to you on the couch, I would be! I’m always happiest when I’m close to my people, whether we’re relaxing at home, going for a walk, or hanging out in the yard. I get along great with other dogs and love playing outside with my dog friends. I’ve also seen a cat at the vet and didn’t pay much attention to it, though I haven’t officially lived with one yet. I do best with older kids. The kind person who found me said I didn’t seem too sure about little kids, but that may have been because they were bothering my puppies at the time. I’m a pretty well-behaved girl, too. I’m house trained, crate trained, and I walk nicely on a leash. When I first go into my crate, I might bark a little while I settle in, but once I get comfy, I’m perfectly fine. Toys are one of my favorite things! I love balls, rope toys, Nyla bones, and stuffed animals—although I have to admit that stuffed toys don’t usually survive very long with me around. Treats are fun too. Sometimes I take a moment to decide about new ones, but I always give them a try… and so far I haven’t turned any down! I’m just a cheerful, affectionate girl who settles in nicely at home and loves being part of the family. After some playtime or a nice walk, I’m more than happy to curl up next to you and relax for the evening. If you’re looking for a loving companion who will happily follow you around, share the couch, and fill your home with smiles, I might be your perfect match. I can’t wait to become your shadow—and your best friend. If you are interested in meeting Josie apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 10 or older. ##2668649##

Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
6 FOOT FENCE REQUIRED Meet Remi 7-year-old Rough Collie girl. Mahogany Remi is a one-of-a-kind collie with her own soundtrack and absolutely no interest in following anyone else’s rhythm. She is fiercely independent, proudly opinionated, and fully convinced the world works best when she is in charge. Remi loves to communicate and is well known for her long, deep, meaningful conversations with her person. If you talk back, she will happily keep the discussion going. She is a true conversationalist who enjoys engaging with her people. Remi can live with small dogs, but she must be the queen. She is not looking to share leadership and prefers to rule her domain with confidence and dignity. Although undeniably a diva, Remi only tolerates light, gentle grooming. She prefers minimal fuss. Being her own biggest fan, she has forgotten some basic manners over time, so remedial training is a must. With patience and consistency, she has the potential to do very well. A secure yard is required, as loud noises can frighten her. She startles easily and needs a safe, contained space where she can feel secure. Remi would do best with an experienced adopter who appreciates a strong-willed, talkative dog, can provide structure and training, and offers a calm home with secure fencing. She is not for everyone, but for the right person, Remi will be a memorable and engaging companion. If Remi strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Remi is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Remi is being fostered in KY (near Cincinnati) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Story
Tucker is a, 90-pound, 5-year-old mixed breed with a truly unique coat. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people or settling into a new space, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate, goofy, and loving nature shines through. He adores attention and bonding time with his people. He loves being outdoors—sniffing, exploring—and is always up for playtime, especially if tennis balls are involved. When he’s not playing, you’ll often find him happily gazing out the window. He already has a solid foundation of training and knows basic commands such as sit, place, paw, and come. He’s been lovingly raised by his current owner since he was 6 months old and has known a home full of care, consistency, and affection. He is being rehomed due to resource guarding with food and toys toward another dog in the home. He would do best as the only pet, where he can fully relax and enjoy undivided attention. A calm household with a fenced yard and no young children is preferred.

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Bindi is 1 yrs old Bindi is as sweet as Valentine’s Day candy and oh so loving. She’s a happy girl, though Bindi hasn’t shown any interest in playing with toys just yet. Bindi’s greatest joy in life is being with her people. She is housebroken and doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t. Bindi is also great with other dogs and doesn’t react to bunnies, squirrels or deer. She walks on a leash tolerably well but would benefit from some additional leash and obedience training. Because Bindi is high energy, her foster mom believes she would do best with older children. Like most collies, she barks to alert and “speak.” Bindi is patiently waiting for her forever Valentine, who she will lavish with love and attention.     Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.March 10, 2026, 12:04 am
