I have these big pointy ears that I love to perk up when I see people, a fluffy sable coat that’s super soft for cuddles, and I’m almost always smiling with my tongue hanging out because life is just so good. I’m the gentlest girl you’ll ever meet — I really don’t have a mean bone in my body. I’m sweet, calm, and easygoing. I love everyone I meet and I’m great with kids and other pets. I already know all the important house rules: I’m fully housebroken, I’m a champion at using the dog door, and I’m super chill in my kennel when you need me to be. I just want to be near my people, whether that’s snuggling on the couch or going for nice walks. I promise to be your loyal, loving companion who fills your home with wags, cuddles, and plenty of smiles. Story
We found this sweet heeler abandoned on a county road in February, severely underweight. He was meant to be a temporary rescue, but we hoped we could keep him. Unfortunately, we’ve realized we can’t provide the environment he needs long-term. He is incredibly smart and learned sit, stay, place, down, and shake within a week. He’s eager to learn, loves having a job, and would thrive on acreage or with an active owner familiar with working breeds. We and our vet suspect he has a form of polydipsia. He drinks excessive amounts of water, which causes very frequent urination. Despite consistent potty training, he often urinates without warning and may never be a reliable indoor dog. This is a heartbreaking decision, but we want to find him a home that better fits his needs and allows him to succeed.
