Story
Just look at this sweet face! Come onnn, don’t you wanna take me home? Hey–I’m Bailey and I’m everything you could ever want in a dog. Sweet, quiet and affectionate with the occasional burst of energy, I would make the perfect addition to your family. And if you need a daily serotonin boost, my floppy ears and warm brown eyes will certainly do the trick! Now, I haven’t seen much of the world yet so it’s important to know that I might start off a little shy. But once I come out of my shell, I’m yours forever! Fun-loving and playful, I do well with kids and other dogs. I’ll go crazy for anything squeaky and I don’t mind sharing my toys. More than anything, though, I LOVE MY OWNER. I am incredibly loyal, sticking to your side like a doting shadow. I'll give you the best cuddles and will help you clean the plates after dinner. Not to mention, I’ll eagerly join you on all your walks and runs around the neighborhood. My foster mom brags about my house manners and I can't wait to show them off for my new folks. So, if you are looking for the perfect Collie hybrid, give me a chance! Apply to meet me!

Story
John Doe came to us from the streets just North of Downtown San Antonio. He had a small, parasite ridden female German Shepard puppy with him that was only 10 weeks old. It was immediately obvious that he was a caring and loving creature as he handled the puppy with great attention and with purpose. The moment we stopped to check him out, he greeted us with tail wagging so hard that his back end literally lifted off the ground with each swipe, and many kisses followed. Once he saw that we were ok, he allowed the puppy to join in and the two would stay with us for over a month while they recuperated. John Doe tested positive for the Parvo virus and had intestinal parasites - not a huge surprise living on the streets of San Antonio, but his spirit, determination to be happy and excellent care from his vets and fosters got him through all his ailments rather quickly and completely. He conquered the Parvo virus and was cleared of parasites and immediately began to gain weight and get his happy-go-lucky attitude back! When I tell you "I have never seen such a well-adjusted, happy dog", I am not exaggerating. HE IS A LOVER!! I don't know if he realizes his luck in finding someone to care for him or if he was just born this way, but it is so true and obvious the moment you see him. John Doe loves long walks and would likely love someone to run with him or be in a place with a yard where he can run and play. He is FANTASTIC with kids and other dogs. He likes to play but he is not rough and seems to take commands and cues well. With some additional reinforcement of commands, he will be near perfect. I believe him to be very trainable as I have worked with him in the little time I have had him and have noticed quick improvement. While he has a good amount of energy, he is quick to calm and loves to just be close to his human(s). John Doe has done excellent at dog parks and will socialize with ease. He loves the dog park, is not aggressive at all and lets other dogs take the lead at first...warming up to them quickly and joining in any play. When on walks, John Doe enjoys running through tall grass with his mouth wide open - he has a silly heart and is completely joyful for the little things - and that joy is contagious. He is kennel trained and has never had an accident in his kennel in all the time we have had him. He is also potty trained and takes care of business pretty quickly. He is very expressive, especially with his big beautiful ears, and he hears everything - this makes him a great dog for someone wanting a little security. He does not bark very much at all. In fact, the only time I have heard him bark is during play. He does let out a soft whimper when he sees animals that are in other people's yards or when he wants your attention...it really is very sweet and endearing. I would totally keep this dog if I didn't already have two high maintenance dogs, and I just know he will fill your home with lots of love and laughter. He has a lean but strong build but will allow you to pick him up and cuddle him if you want. He will be getting neutered in the coming week.
