I’m looking for help finding a safe placement for my dog. He is 3 years old. His birthday is September 16th 2023 and he is an extremely loving and affectionate dog with people. He is great with both children/adults, loves attention and cuddling, and has never shown aggression toward people. He loves car rides, walks/dinner time. He loves to cuddle for bed. Most of the time, he also gets along with other dogs. The issue occurs around food/treats. He becomes possessive/resource-guarding in those situations, there have been incidents where he has bitten other dogs. I want to be completely upfront about this history so that he can be placed safely. Outside of situations involving food or treats, he is a loving dog and generally does well. because of the incidents, I believe the safest placement may be a home where he is the only dog or with an experienced owner who understands resource guarding and can properly fix that issue. He & my other dog have fought and Helix is getting hurt.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our big baby boy Herby, He is a 4-year-old Hound that thinks he is a little puppy He loves to play in the backyard and likes to take naps on the shaded grass. Herby has our routine down; he goes to lay down on his doggie bed when we go to the bed room, and in the morning he loves to give kisses to the kids to wake them up We are working with him on walking on the leash; he gets very excited when he sees other dogs on our path. Herby is neutered, microchipped, and up to date with his shots. Our big baby is in diapers because he is still marking the house. It is a lot less now since he got neutered. Story
Hubert is a coonhound mix estimatd to be 1-2 years old. He is very high energy and would do best with someone who can fulfill his exercise needs and/or someone with land. He is currently being fostered with dogs, cats, and a toddler. He plays rough with other dogs. He would do fine as a solo dog, but if there are other dogs in the house, they should be young with similar play styles. Hubert will sometimes run towards the cats and "play bow" in an attempt to play with them. He has big, goofy, puppy energy, and because of this, he will do best in a house with older kids. In no way is he aggressive. He was found on the street and was taken in. He has tested negative for heartworm, but will need a final test at the vet in August 2026. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, microchipped, and ready for his forever home. Hubert's adoption fee is $350. Lady is being fostered in TX. HI! I am delighted that you are interested in knowing more about me! I am about 3 months old*. My absolute passions are EAT, MOVE and Cuddle! In fact, among my many super pawers is my super sense of smell, so I became highly excited when smelling delicious foods around me! My foster mamma and I are working hard to learn how to harness this super power! My second super power is my high level of energy and my strong curiosity, I guess that makes three super powers, isn’ it? If you don’t give me a job to do, I will find it on my own! So it is very important for me that you become my guiding light. Yet, I also want you to be soft and cuddle with me in quiet times, since I actively look for bonding, reassurance, and safety. I am good with kiddos, but I will prefer kiddos 6+ since I - for now - get excited and might scratch them by accident. Also, I highly benefit from tolerant and playful siblings who can help me balance when the puppyhood zoomies come! Did I tell you that I am already potty trained? YUP!!! I am proudly potty trained. Regarding my eyes, I have Microphthalmia which “is a congenital condition where one or both eyeballs are abnormally small” on my right eye. My foster momma is seeing a little cloudiness on my left eye*, so I am going to visit an eye specialist in mid August. However, I have not presented any issue navigating the house, jumping the stairs, or avoiding any obstacles in the backyard. I am sure my foster momma will update any relevant info after our appointment. Are you ready to love me? * By the time of this writing on July 2nd. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effective immediately.
