Story
When Huckleberry first came into rescue, he wanted nothing to do with the world around him. He was scared, shut down, and unsure if people could be trusted. Watching him slowly come out of his shell has been one of the most rewarding journeys. Today, Huck is a sweet, gentle boy who has discovered just how much fun life can be. His favorite thing in the world? Other dogs. They give him confidence, help him feel safe, and bring out his playful, goofy side. His best friend is his brother, Finn, and the two are rarely far apart. Whether they're wrestling in the yard or napping side by side, they're happiest together. Huck is still a little shy when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you. Give him a little patience, a few treats, and a calm environment, and he'll be asking for pets before you know it. Once he trusts you, you'll have a loyal companion who quietly adores his people. Huck is about 11 months old, weighs around 50 pounds, and is ready to find a family that will continue showing him that the world isn't such a scary place after all. While we'd absolutely love to see Huck and Finn and adopted together, it's not a requirement. Huck would thrive in any home with another friendly, confident dog to help him continue building his confidence. If you're looking for a kind-hearted pup who just needs someone to believe in him, Huck is waiting to meet you.
