Story
Finch is a 5 year old 60lbs red tick coonhound with a voice like David Allen Coe. He has many typical hound tendencies like being vocal, constant curiosity and nose to the ground, but he is also very food motivated. He LOVES going on walks, treats, and is dog friendly and would like a dog brother or sister in his forever home. He is potty trained in his foster home that he has lived in for 2 years. Finch is a sensitive guy. He comes from a home where he was unsure of new people but generally tolerated them outside of the home. He is more protective of himself and his family when people enter his home if he is not comfortable with them. However, his foster mom has found that if they, along with the new person and his foster dog sister, goes for a walk outside then he's more comfortable allowing the new person inside the home when done. They have also found success if he is on leash and treated when the new person enters that also works well. We do not recommend small children as it can take him a while to feel comfortable and trust his surroundings. Finch will need a family committed to him and his future socialization if they want to have success with this gorgeous copper guy.If you would like to give Finch the chance he deserves, apply online for him today!

Story
Meet Sarah, an affectionate and playful 2-year-old coonhound who is currently up for adoption. With her soulful eyes and wagging tail, Sarah is sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet her. Sarah is a bubbly and loving coonhound who craves human companionship. She loves snuggling on the couch, going for long walks, and playing with her favorite toys. Sarah is potty trained, weighs 45 pounds, and has a heart full of love to give to her future family. Sarah isn't a very vocal girl. She loves hanging out in her favorite spot window watching with her favorite toys. She's very food motivated and is a quick learner. Sarah loves playing with toys that require her nose/scent work. Sarah gave birth to five beautiful puppies in January while in a shelter. Sarah and her puppies were rescued by Grafelman Farms and given a second chance at a happy life. Now, Sarah is looking for a forever home where she can feel safe and loved. Sarah is a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction. She would do best in a home where she will receive plenty of attention and love. A fenced yard where she can run and play would be ideal for Sarah, or a human dedicated to daily walks. Sarah is good with other dogs and cats, but older children may be better because she gets "bouncy" when she's excited. Sarah's $300 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, deworming, negative heartworm test and prevention, flea/tick prevention, and microchip registration. Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
