Rosie is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets.  She recently finished raising her 11 pups and is now ready to find her own forever home. She is a 1.5 - 2 year old, 50 pound red coonhound mix who still has her puppy playtime moments where she likes to play tug and fetch, and toss her treats up the air like toys.  She still has puppy energy and she needs her walks and playtime to stay happy. She then will just as quickly decide its time for bed and jump up next to you on the couch to sleep or try to crawl in your lap.   She likes to watch the squirrels outside the window, but rarely barks unless she sees deer walk by.   She is 100% house and crate trained and responds well on leash.  True to her breed she will try to chase every squirrel she sees but can quickly be brought back to attention on walks.  This also means she can not be placed in a house with cats.     She plays well with other dogs and loves her 13 year old beagle/basset foster sister. She would do best with a fenced yard where she can run and play.   The adoption fee of $150 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! This sweet girl we have named Avery. She has shown up in a nearby village, staying at a cemetery. A family has befriended her that lives across the street, so she is being fed. Avery does come to their home to eat and be with them if they are out doors. She does well greeting their dog when taken out on a walk. Then she goes back to the cemetery. More than likely where she was abandoned and in great hopes of her master returning.😪 This is how a pet does most often, Sits Waiting in confusion! We are trying to get her into a rescue or a safe haven until a home is found. If you may be interested in helping or giving Avery a home, PLEASE CALL KATHY AT 618 383 5253. Update: Avery is now in a foster home, SHE is sweet sweet and amazing. Good with everyone, including their dogs. No chip, looks to be 1 year old, knows some commands, A Real Jewel!!! Meet Jasper. I adopted him in 2019 he’s a coonhound lab mix. Looking for a loving and kind home for him, he’s 6 years old but is still as playful as he was as a puppy. Loves going on new adventures hiking , going in the lake but unfortunately I don’t have the time I used to have for him. I recently had my first baby and he just deserves someone who has the time to invest into him. He’s house trained, never used a crate. Needs someone who loves snuggles.
