Story
Meet Wapiti!Wapiti is a playful, affectionate coonhound/pointer mix with striking good looks and a personality to match. At about 60 pounds and born around January 1, 2024, this young pup is ready to find his forever family. Named after the Shawnee word for white rump elk, Wapiti was found near Elk Creek Lakeand like his namesake, hes a graceful jumper. He can clear a 3-foot gate with ease, so a home with a 5-foot fence would be best. He would love to have a doggy companion to run and play with him in the yard. Wapiti loves staying active and would thrive with a family that enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime. Hes also a big fan of belly rubs and couch cuddles, striking a great balance between energy and affection. Smart and eager to please, hes learning his manners and already knows how to sit, come, and lay downhis version of lying down includes a slow, charming slide to the floor. He has a distinct, endearing howl when he spots squirrels or rabbits. Wapiti gets along well with the resident dog and cats in his foster home, and he recently passed his first visit to doggie daycare with flying colors. Hes not yet a fan of car rides or being crated, but his foster is helping him build confidence through gentle desensitization. As a typical young pup, Wapiti enjoys chewing, so a good supply of sturdy chew toys and natural chews is a must. Wapiti is neutered, microchipped, crate trained, and up to date on vaccines. If youre looking for a loyal, active companion with a gentle heart and a goofy grin, Wapiti may be the one for you. Story
Chief is a redtick coonhound that we adopted about 4 years ago. He has always been very attached to me since we got him. He’s such a good dog. He is very loving. He LOVES being outside especially on warm days he can sun bathe. He is definitely a nosey boy and loves being outside but also loves cuddling inside with you! He was previously taught to hunt so he also loves to bay and howl at whoever goes by our house. We recently had a baby in July and Chief is not adjusting well. He has had a lot of anxiety and wants nothing to do with the baby. He hasn’t done anything wrong. He’s just not happy. I think he would be happier in a new home without a baby and with a big yard! He would also do best with another dog! He loves having a buddy! I never thought I’d be doing this. I’m heartbroken and will make sure he goes to the perfect home.

Hi, I'm Hope. Living here, I've learned the quiet comfort of gentle moments. I'm a bit shy, but give me a little time, and I'll warm up with a sweet, mellow affection. I dream of a peaceful home where I can relax by your side, perhaps enjoying the soft murmur of a calm afternoon. I'm not one for loud adventures, preferring the serene company of someone who understands the value of quiet love. If you seek a companion who will cherish tranquil days with you, I'm here, waiting to share that gentle joy. DOB: 06/30/2023 Adoption fee: $200
