Story
Frosty is a 12 months old (as of 11/25/2025) awesome pup looking for his forever home. NMLR saved Frosty and his siblings from being stuck in the cold. I was showed what it was like to be in a warm home; snuggled and cuddled. Frosty is a little shy at first, but when he gets comfortable, he loves to sit with you and relax. He has a super cool trait called heterochromia, meaning he has two different colored eyes, but don't worry... this does not alter his vision at all! He is thriving in his foster home but is patiently awaiting a home to call his own. Contact us today for more information about our adoption process and more about Frosty. nothingmlrescue@gmail.com

Story
Meet Dixie Chick This lovely 6-8-year-old coonhound is the definition of sweet southern charm! Dixie Chick was rescued from a high-kill shelter on her “last day,” and she’s been thankful for every cozy couch nap since. Dixie is a gentle soul who loves her stuffed animals — she treats them like her babies and keeps them close at all times. While she’s mostly a laid-back lady, her hound nose can still get her going when she catches a good scent! She’s crate trained and settles down quickly after a few minutes of letting you know she’s there (classic hound behavior!). She even sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate. We do recommend crating her when you’re away — if she smells something tasty, she’ll go on a little “treasure hunt.” Like many older dogs, Dixie occasionally has pee accidents if she isn’t let out in time, but she’s doing her best. This sweet girl is just looking for a loving home where she can snooze on the couch, snuggle her stuffies, and enjoy her golden years feeling safe and adored. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
Max was left on our front porch one morning, and while we don’t know much about his past, we’re getting to know what an amazing dog he truly is. At about 2 ½ years old and 94 lbs, he’s a big boy, but also a well-mannered one! Max is house-trained, non-destructive, and already knows “sit” and “paw.” He walks nicely on the leash, checking in with his person often, and loves to romp around outside or play with you. He is energetic and would love an outlet for his energy! Despite his size, Max has a timid side. He can be easily startled by loud noises and needs a little time to warm up to new people and places. Because of this, he’ll do best in a calm environment with patient adopters who can help build his confidence. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his playful, loyal, and incredibly sweet personality shine through. So far, Max has met one female dog. He did well with her, but did try and mount her a few times. He has met kids and loves them, though keep in mind he is a large boy and he definitely likes to lean and sit on you. He has yet to meet a cat! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts playmate and loyal companion, Max may be the perfect match.
