Story
Meet Sage. She has an affectionate nature and truly loves being outdoors. She would love to find a home that enjoys outdoor activities. Sage does like other dogs and has been good with the foster's grandkids (she has been around them since they were 6 years old). She barks at cats, but doesn't chase them. She lives with a fenced yard, so hasn't been leash trained, but will probably learn quickly to go on hikes and other fun adventures. The current owner needs to have rotator cuff surgery and can't keep her much longer, although it breaks her heart. She asked for our help to find the right home where she will be loved and well cared for. DOB: 8/14/20 Weight: 45 lbs. Sage is spayed and her vaccines are current. Adoption fee: $175 If interested in Sage, please fill out an adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/MFAR/42224-mfar-adoption-application Sage is a Community Assist animal. Mercy Fund Animal Rescue agrees to handle Community Assist animals in order to help our community members that need assistance in finding a good home for an animal that they are not able to keep. A Community Assist animal is not vetted through Mercy Fund Animal Rescue. This animal is adopted “as is”.

Story
Meet Roscoe, who comes to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Roscoe is a 3-year-old, 50 lb., Coonhound mix. He was down to his last 24 hours before being put down, and a foster family of ours lovingly took him into their home. Roscoe is incredibly sweet, loves kids, other dogs, and is full of life. He's currently skinny, which his foster family is actively working on...although based on his enthusiastic counter-surfing skills, he’s convinced every unattended plate is part of his recovery plan. His foster family is also in the process of housetraining him. Needless to say, we have some manners to work on and are doing so and he's learning and thriving more and more each day. Shelter life was hard on him, but since we pulled him, he's calm, loving, and clearly happy to be out. Roscoe is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you would like to meet this happier than life fellow, please reach out to us for an application.

Story
Meet Dixie Chick This lovely 6-8-year-old coonhound is the definition of sweet southern charm! Dixie Chick was rescued from a high-kill shelter on her “last day,” and she’s been thankful for every cozy couch nap since. Dixie is a gentle soul who loves her stuffed animals — she treats them like her babies and keeps them close at all times. While she’s mostly a laid-back lady, her hound nose can still get her going when she catches a good scent! She’s crate trained and settles down quickly after a few minutes of letting you know she’s there (classic hound behavior!). She even sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate. We do recommend crating her when you’re away — if she smells something tasty, she’ll go on a little “treasure hunt.” Like many seniors, Dixie will need a mid day potty break if you are working all day. This sweet girl is just looking for a loving home where she can snooze on the couch, snuggle her stuffies, and enjoy her golden years feeling safe and adored. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible

Story
Mia is the most cuddly pup you'll ever meet. She loves to snuggle right next to your face, or nap on the couch with you. This little sour patch kid is full to the brim with excitement and energy. She loves to run, jump and play. Mia does well with other dogs, but doesn't really understand boundaries. She thinks everyone wants to play with her. She loves toys with squeakers. She walks well on leash unless she sees something interesting and then she may pull you some. She is doing well with house training, but still has the occasional accident. She is very good about using puppy pads. Mia can be housed with cats, she shows no aggression to them, but does enjoy chasing my boys through the house, which may stress a cat out. If you're looking for high energy, big cuddles, and a sweet face Mia may be the dog for you. She should be small/medium sized full grown. Mia would do best in a home with kids or another dog to play with DOB: 6/20/25 Mia is spayed, had all her puppy vaccines. is dewormed and microchipped. If interested in Mia, please fill out an adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/MFAR/42224-mfar-adoption-application

Story
Rosie is a sweet lady in her golden years, looking for the comfiest couch to call home. Rosie is somewhere between 10-13 years old, and she acts like it! This lady loves to snooze in the sun, snooze on a couch, or snooze in a fluffy dog bed - she's pretty happy to wake up for mealtimes as well! Rosie is good with other dogs, though she prefers older ones who leave her to her business (not the biggest fan of young puppies, but she's earned that right). She is happy to accept love, pets, and cuddles from her humans, but doesn't really require much more than that. She is generally quiet, but you'll know she's part beagle once she's got an opinion to share! Rosie is mostly potty trained with a little guidance. Being an older lady, she may use a pee pad in the middle of the night. She keeps to herself and generally stays out of stuff, so she has not required crating while in foster care. Rosie is about 35lbs, spayed, up to date on vaccination, and had good bloodwork. Due to her advanced age, the vet recommended to forego dental surgery, but a good oral care food has helped her chompers get a little cleaner. If you have a comfy corner for this lady to spend her golden years, apply now for Rosie!
