Story
We adopt only in the Greater St. Louis Area. Katie is everything that we love about Corgis. She is sweet, outgoing, and affectionate. She likes attention from her human, but is not needy. If you invite her on to the sofa, she is happy to lay next to you. However, a comfy dog bed on the floor suits her just fine, too. She is very smart, easy to train, and came to us already knowing basic obedience commands. She loves short walks and long naps. Katie is happy to help with gardening (she digs, you fill the hole). She likes car rides, helping run errands and loves greeting all people. She is very cat friendly and is currently living with older cats in her foster home. She has good manners when properly introduced to calm, gentle dogs. Katie can be bossy with other dogs, but could live nicely with a mild-mannered, calm dog that will allow her to be in charge. She would be perfect for an older family or someone that works from home, as she really likes to be around her family. Katie is an older gal, but she has plenty of spunk and energy to keep her new family on their toes! Katie is house-trained, crate-trained and wonderful on lead. She is 12 years old, but doesn't know it. Katie is looking for a permanent foster or an adopter in the St. Louis area. A fenced yard is required. No electric fences! Katie would not do well in an apartment. For more information contact claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org.

Story
Erin will be adopted in the Greater St. Louis Area or the Greater Kansas City Area. We do not adopt to homes with small children. A fenced yard is required. No exceptions. Erin will need a calm experienced home. I’m Erin and I’m 5 years old. We don’t really know what my situation was before I was rescued, but my life is so much better now. I’m very timid until I know no one will hurt me. Be patient and I will become your best friend. Loud noises scare me so no yelling please. Men can be scary but if they talk quietly to me and let me come to them, they can be my friend. I haven’t been around small children. I love going on walks and I’m starting to figure out how much fun toys are. I get the zoomies and will race around for a few minutes then quiet down. I’m good friends with my foster cat brother. I am probably too energetic for small kittens or other small furry critters. My foster mom calls me a silly girl, but I’m just so excited to go for a walk that my whole body wiggles. I’m the true example of a wiggle butt. I’m still working on walking calmly. Sometimes I pull and try to wander from side to side because everything is interesting. I’m working on being friends with bigger dogs. If I can take my time getting to know the bigger dog, I will be ok being near them without getting upset. I’m crate trained and after a minute of barking, I’ll quiet down when I’m left alone. We believe that Erin is a Corgi/Cattle Dog mix. Please email claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org for more information.

Poor Bennie. He has been adopted out twice now....neither return his fault, just life circumstances. He is now a senior seeking a quiet loving home for the rest of his life. Are you the one? First adoption was as a 12 week old puppy, then returned at 2 years of age and adopted out until Fall of 2023 :'( Neither his fault.      ##130742##
