Poor Bennie. He has been adopted out twice now....neither return his fault, just life circumstances. He is now a senior seeking a quiet loving home for the rest of his life. Are you the one? First adoption was as a 12 week old puppy, then returned at 2 years of age and adopted out until Fall of 2023 :'( Neither his fault.      ##130742##

Story
We adopt only in the Greater St. Louis Area. Meet Mabel - a little queen ready for her own kingdom! Mabel couldn’t settle on an eye color, so she went with one of each — blue and brown. Why be ordinary? At about four years old, this girl has magnificent ears and enough personality to fill a room. She’s looking for a home where she can be your one and only, and she’s pretty sure that’s a reasonable royal request. When Mabel came to us, she weighed a hefty 45 pounds. Through a steady diet and plenty of hard work, she’s slimmed down to a leaner 30 pounds. Her happiest milestone? Rediscovering that she could jump onto the couch! These days, her happy little nub is visible again, and she’s putting it to good use. Now, Mabel isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. This girl has opinions, and she’s not shy about sharing them especially with a disapproving grunt when another dog gets the attention she believes is rightfully hers. The message is clear: “Excuse me. I believe you were petting me.” Mabel would do best as the only dog in the home, where she won’t have to share the spotlight. She’s worked hard for her fresh start. Now she just needs a person to call her own, a comfy spot on the couch, and a kingdom where she can reign as the only canine queen. Mabel will be adopted in the Greater St. Louis Area. No toddlers please. A securely fenced yard is required. No exceptions. Please email claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org for more information.

Story
Meet Thelma Lou- A loving senior dog looking for a new home. She is a 13 1/2 year old basset hound/corgi mix who weighs about 35 lbs. She enjoys relaxing in her bed and spending time with her people and will usually follow you around just to be in the same room with you. She is starting to get arthritis in her back legs but still gets around okay. She loves her kennel and enjoys sleeping in it every night and never fusses when she’s in there. Actually she’ll let you know every night around 8:30 that she’s ready to go to bed (lol). We are moving to Bolivia to do missionary work and unfortunately won’t be able to take her with us. It is with a heavy heart that I am having to surrender her but I know it’s the right thing to do for her at this time. If you think Thelma Lou could be the right fit for you, please reach out to learn more about her. I realize she is a senior dog but would greatly appreciate anyone who would consider giving her a loving home.
