Story
Tootie now goes by the name Zoey. She was adopted from Stray Haven as a baby and returned when her owners fell on hard timers and had to move to a place where they couldn't keep her. Zoey is a very good girl.  She is potty trained and calm in the house and she is good with kids, cats and dogs! If you're looking for a calm quiet companion, this could be the perfect match for you!    If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting this baby, please fill out an application. They currently are fixed, up to date on shots, wormings, preventatives and are microchipped (with lifetime registration). Story
Meet Rocky! He is believed to be a mix of Corgi, Aussie, and PomChi. At 9 months old, he hasn't had much exposure to many people, which has made him a bit timid at first. With a little time and patience, he reveals his true personality. Rocky is known to be good with cats, dogs, older children, and the elderly. He is working on being house-trained and enjoys traveling. However, like many dogs, he can be a little sensitive during nail trims. We recommend a calm home environment with a consistent schedule and children aged 12 and older, as he can get overstimulated by loud noises and a lot of movement. ADOPTION FEE: LOCAL $100 NON-LOCAL $140 All dogs receive at least 1 distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccine. If possible a heartworm test will be done and if negative the dog will be started on heartworm prevention. All animals receive a flea and parasite prevention/treatment and will be microchipped. All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first come, first serve. We do not offer holds. We do not require in most cases that adopters bring all their families members and dogs for a meet and greet. But we do highly encourage it. We are happy to introduce the new dog to your dog(s) at the shelter. No appointment necessary. We do offer home trials of dogs over 6 months of age for about a week. You will not need to pay the adoption fee (spay neuter deposit) ahead of time, but if you decide to adopt you will need to return to the shelter to complete the paperwork and pay the adoption deposit. If you do not wish to complete the adoption, you can bring the dog back at any time during normal business hours during your home trial period. We do not allow after hours drop off.
