Story
Meet Applebee’s Bacon Bourbon Sliders aka Baconator aka Kevin Bacon, or sometimes just Kevin. Kevin Bacon is a handsome 1 year old Corgi with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This adorable boy happens to be deaf, but don’t tell Kevin that he’s any different, he approaches life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and plenty of puppy charm. Kevin is settling nicely into foster care and enjoys spending time outdoors playing ball. Whether he’s racing after a toy or deciding that bringing it back is optional, he keeps everyone entertained with his goofy antics. He also loves a good case of the zoomies, happily running laps around the yard before returning for some well earned attention and affection. Like many young dogs, Kevin is still learning the ropes. He’s making progress with potty training and is working on building confidence when his people move out of sight. Sometimes Kevin expresses his opinions with a few enthusiastic bark complaints when he knows his humans are nearby but can’t see them. His foster family is helping him learn that being alone for short periods is okay by rewarding calm behavior and giving him time to adjust. Each day, he settles a little more quickly and continues to gain confidence. Because Kevin is deaf, his future family will need to understand the unique needs of a deaf dog. Deaf dogs learn through visual cues, hand signals, consistency, and positive reinforcement. They require secure fencing or leash walks since they cannot hear approaching dangers or recall commands from a distance. In return, deaf dogs often form incredibly strong bonds with their people and are just as capable of learning and thriving as any hearing dog. Kevin is a sweet, playful young boy who is looking for a patient family willing to continue his training and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s destined to be. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling with his puppy antics and loving nature, Kevin Bacon may be the perfect addition to your family. Kevin may not hear your voice, but he’s ready to listen with his heart. ❤️ Kevin is being fostered in Queensbury, NY Please fill out an application on our website: www.sjcorgirescue.org/adopt

🌶️ Meet Chili’s Baby Back Ribs 🌶️ Chili is a handsome 1 year old deaf Corgi who proves every day that being deaf doesn’t slow him down one bit! This happy go lucky boy embraces life with enthusiasm and curiosity, always ready to explore the world around him. Chili is a friendly, affectionate pup who loves attention and happily soaks up all the pets and cuddles you have to offer. One of his favorite activities is exploring the backyard, where he can investigate new sights, smells, and adventures at his own pace. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well with canine friends who are welcoming and playful. Chili also doesn’t mind respectful children who understand how to interact gently with dogs. One thing that makes Chili unique is how little bothers him. Since he can’t hear them, thunderstorms and fireworks don’t cause him any stress, allowing him to remain calm and relaxed while other dogs may be looking for a place to hide. Chili is looking for a family that will appreciate his sweet personality and understand that deaf dogs are just as capable, loving, and trainable as any other dog. With a little patience, consistency, and communication through visual cues, Chili will make an incredible companion. Story
Luna’s a 1.5yo 9lb Chi/corgi mix. She's dog, cat and kid friendly. She needs warm up time with new people. She’s working on house training and is pee pad and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She does bark at strangers. She’s very shy until she gets to know you, but once she gets to know her people. she doesn't leave your side. She is perfectly content with just sitting in your lap 24/7 & cuddle. She loves playing fetch with her stuffed babies or her ball. She can be a barker but usually only if someone is at the door or if she's people watching out a window, she's quiet otherwise. She is a VERY HIGH Jumper, she jumped out of an open dog pen that is about 2 1/2 feet high. Luna’s foster requires a home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, a secure fenced in yard with her people out with her, another small, friendly dog, be allowed on the furniture and sleep in bed with them, along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Luna as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Luna is spayed, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. Currently in NE Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org
