Story
Meet Applebee’s Bacon Bourbon Sliders aka Baconator aka Kevin Bacon, or sometimes just Kevin. Kevin Bacon is a handsome 1 year old Corgi with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This adorable boy happens to be deaf, but don’t tell Kevin that he’s any different, he approaches life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and plenty of puppy charm. Kevin is settling nicely into foster care and enjoys spending time outdoors playing ball. Whether he’s racing after a toy or deciding that bringing it back is optional, he keeps everyone entertained with his goofy antics. He also loves a good case of the zoomies, happily running laps around the yard before returning for some well earned attention and affection. Like many young dogs, Kevin is still learning the ropes. He’s making progress with potty training and is working on building confidence when his people move out of sight. Sometimes Kevin expresses his opinions with a few enthusiastic bark complaints when he knows his humans are nearby but can’t see them. His foster family is helping him learn that being alone for short periods is okay by rewarding calm behavior and giving him time to adjust. Each day, he settles a little more quickly and continues to gain confidence. Because Kevin is deaf, his future family will need to understand the unique needs of a deaf dog. Deaf dogs learn through visual cues, hand signals, consistency, and positive reinforcement. They require secure fencing or leash walks since they cannot hear approaching dangers or recall commands from a distance. In return, deaf dogs often form incredibly strong bonds with their people and are just as capable of learning and thriving as any hearing dog. Kevin is a sweet, playful young boy who is looking for a patient family willing to continue his training and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s destined to be. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling with his puppy antics and loving nature, Kevin Bacon may be the perfect addition to your family. Kevin may not hear your voice, but he’s ready to listen with his heart. ❤️ Kevin is being fostered in Queensbury, NY Please fill out an application on our website: www.sjcorgirescue.org/adopt

Story
🌶️ Meet Chili’s Baby Back Ribs 🌶️ Chili is a handsome 1 year old deaf Corgi who proves every day that being deaf doesn’t slow him down one bit! This happy go lucky boy embraces life with enthusiasm and curiosity, always ready to explore the world around him. Chili is a friendly, affectionate pup who loves attention and happily soaks up all the pets and cuddles you have to offer. One of his favorite activities is exploring the backyard, where he can investigate new sights, smells, and adventures at his own pace. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well with canine friends who are welcoming and playful. Chili also doesn’t mind respectful children who understand how to interact gently with dogs. One thing that makes Chili unique is how little bothers him. Since he can’t hear them, thunderstorms and fireworks don’t cause him any stress, allowing him to remain calm and relaxed while other dogs may be looking for a place to hide. Chili is looking for a family that will appreciate his sweet personality and understand that deaf dogs are just as capable, loving, and trainable as any other dog. With a little patience, consistency, and communication through visual cues, Chili will make an incredible companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and resilient best friend, Chili may be the perfect addition to your family! ❤️🐾🌶️ Please fill out an application on our website to be considered. www.sjcorgirescue.org/adopt

Story
Hi!  My name is Bridgette and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray and taken to a really scary place called a shelter where, after my hold time was up, I was placed on something bad called "the list".  Fortunatey for me, a BCAA volunteer saw my picture and started the process on getting me out of there.  I was very happy to be out of there but was still pretty scared when I first came into foster, but everyone has been so nice to me that I have started coming out of my shell and discovering I love attention from anyone willing to give it to me (belly rubs are really good, too).  I appear to be maybe a mix of a basset (my legs are only a couple inches) and maybe corgi.  Whatever I am, my foster mom says I am super cute with a personality to match.  The vet put me a little over a year old and I weigh around 24lbs.  It also looks like I have had puppies recently and was probably abandoned right after they were weaned.  While I'm not aggressive towards other dogs, I prefer calmer ones that do not get in my face; so far I haven't bothered those things called cats.  I have done really well in my crate which I will go in readily as I feels it's my safe space unless, of course, I'm allowed to be out with you.  I am good on leash with just a little bit of encouragement.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Lady Lucy – Sweet Survivor  Some dogs have a way of capturing your heart the moment you meet them, and Lady Lucy is certainly one of those dogs. Though her past appears to have been filled with uncertainty, she has emerged from it with a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and an unwavering belief that good things are still ahead. Lady Lucy was one of nine dogs discovered living in a remote wooded area of Middle Tennessee after they were apparently abandoned when their owner fell on difficult times. No one knows exactly how long they survived on their own, but their situation touched the hearts of many rescue volunteers who came together to help. With patience, food, water, and kindness, the dogs were gradually brought to safety. Rescue groups across the region stepped forward to help, and Critter Cavalry Rescue was fortunate enough to welcome Lady Lucy into its care. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Lucy had once known the comforts of a home. She settled in beautifully and quickly showed everyone what a wonderful companion she is. At just over a year old and weighing 32 pounds, Lucy is the perfect size for a family looking for a smaller dog with a big heart. She appears to be a delightful mix of Corgi and Beagle, though her most remarkable feature is her personality. She is affectionate, gentle, and full of love, with the easygoing nature often found in hound breeds. Whether she's relaxing beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room, Lucy simply wants to be close to her people. She is fully grown, crate trained, housebroken, and has excellent manners in the home. Lucy currently lives successfully with other dogs and does very well in an active household with teenagers, but she has made it clear that she would not mind having a little less competition for attention. After all she has been through, we think she would happily embrace a life where she can enjoy a bit more of the spotlight and receive the princess treatment she believes is rightfully hers. Lady Lucy has a way of looking into your eyes that makes you feel like you've known each other forever. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds, offers unwavering companionship, and fills a home with warmth and comfort. Her difficult past has not diminished her capacity to love; if anything, it seems to have made her even more appreciative of every kindness she receives. Now all that remains is for the right family to find her. Lady Lucy is packed and ready for her next adventure, with an open heart and a hopeful spirit. She is ready to leave her difficult past behind and begin the life she has always deserved with a family who will cherish her as the special girl she truly is. To learn more about Lady Lucy or to request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 25, 2026, 10:22 pm
