Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kirby is a 5 year old Corgi/Chihuahua mix he weighs around 18 pounds. Kirby is Zeke's son so he would have some Chinese Crested powder puff in him also but you really can't tell.   Kirby is a sweet boy who is looking for a new home since his momma had to go into a nursing home.  He is now house trained. He is a real cuddle bug but loves to play as well. He loves his foster brothers even though they are bigger than him. He even does well with our cats and chickens. He is small but sturdy and would probably do well with kids due to his gentle nature.  If you would like to meet Kirby please fill out an application from our website.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 8, 2026, 9:15 pm

Story
We acquired Max at the Guilford County animal shelter about a year ago. He is now approximately 4.5 - 5.0 years old. He is very healthy, crate trained, house trained, lease trained, neutered, chipped. He is up to date on all vaccines through March of this year. Since acquiring Max, my health has suffered (no fault of Max). I have had back surgery last June and will have another back surgery later this month (my wife has also had back surgery). Neither one of us is supposed to lift anything over 15 pounds and Max weighs 25 pounds. We hate that we have to re-home Max. When we acquired Max, he was somewhat shy and unsociable (over that now). He loves to go for walks and barks to inform us each day when it if time to go. We have a fenced yard and require one of the re-homer.

**PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT WHEN REQUESTING AN APPLICATION!!** 10-22-25: "JAX here, and I am ready to tell you all about me! Let's start with how cute I am, as I am a Corgi mix, and I have those little, short, stubby legs--my ears go up or down, just depends on my mood, lol. I am a gentleman at age 7 but am a little on the chunky monkey side at 21 pounds, so Mom is going to help me shed some of that extra added weight. I have had my vaccines, chipped, neutered and am heart worm negative! My house and crate manners are great--I go right to the door to go out! I walk great on the leash, and fuss just a little when I am crated in the car, but I do calm. My foster Mom got me after I was taken to the local county Animal Control, where my owners took me. They even signed off to have me euthanized! Thank goodness the shelter workers saw thru that and saw the real me! After I spent 10 days in quarantine, Mom wasted no time in getting me out of there! I do love to have all your attention, and I do great with other dogs. I have shown no aggression at all at Animal Control and in my foster home! I do need a home with no small children, and Mom does not know how I am with cats, as she has none." "Do I sound like a great guy to add to your life? Just email my Mom at citizens4animals@yahoo.com for an application or any questions you may have. For FASTEST reply, EMAIL ONLY, do not call the number listed on here, as the emails are constantly monitored during the day! Calling will delay a response!" "Till we meet, have the most PAWSome day!" Story
Meet Babe! Babe appears to be a Terrier/Corgi mix and is the perfect medium size at 26 pounds of pure love. This happy girl truly lives up to her name — her tail is almost always wagging (unless she’s fast asleep dreaming of her forever family!). Babe’s personality is sunshine wrapped in fur. She’s friendly, affectionate, and fits in wherever she goes. She gets along great with people and other dogs, and she seamlessly settled into her foster home as if she had always been there. She’s house trained and will also use potty pads. Babe walks nicely on a leash, rides beautifully in the car, and isn’t much of a barker. Her favorite place? Right by your side. She’ll happily follow you from room to room, content to be your little shadow. Because she loves companionship so much, she would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not. And the best part? Babe smiles at you — a real, heart-melting smile that makes every day brighter. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, happy companion who simply wants to love and be loved, Babe is ready to meet you.   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.
