Story
If ever there was a little dog that you wanted to really rescue from a former life with a bad family, it would be Lil NYX.   This  delightful little guy has escaped living a life with a drug dealer who is now in jail and not getting out for a long time.  Bad for the human and GREAT for NYX.  Now he is free to go with a good rescue as Critter Cavalry Rescue is taking him from the shelter where he has languished for months now.  Three families signed up to adopt and then said that things changed.   Seems that the world has gotten his hopes up too many times and then let him and the staff down at the shelter where he stayed for months. Now Critter Cavalry Rescue has learned of his unfair situation and we are going to CHANGE IT ALL!   This boy is only a year old and weighs 24 pounds.   He seems to have some Corgi and maybe a little Beagle in him.  He is not a barker and he was a shelter favorite.  They were so happy when the Sheriff's Department declared NYX available to be free of his former owner's ability to keep him in limbo while he was in jail.   Free at last!  This perfect little guy is wonderful with all dogs, kids, he will chase a cat for 'sport' and  he is good on a leash and crate trained and housebroken.  He is truly the perfect little dog to have as you new BFF.  We cannot find a thing to say bad about Lil NYX.  Don't hesitate to ask questions or to ask for an adoption form.  He is ready NOW.....and he will run and not walk right into your life to bless you forever and ever AMEN.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 3, 2026, 12:32 pm

Meet Kipper! She is a 8 month old corgi mix. She weighs about 33lbs. She is great with everyone!! She has some energy, so she will love outside play or walks around the neighborhood. It would be a bonus for her to have another playful dog, but would also be happy with just her humans. She is completely vetted and ready to find her forever home! Story
Meet Sprocket - a 1 year old, 9.5 pound Corgi mix with a bright mind, a big heart, and the sweetest “little spoon” energy you could ask for! Quick Facts: Name: Sprocket Breed: Corgi Mix Age: 1 year old Weight: 9.5 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: No (not needed) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Medium Fence Required: No Dog’s Location: Chapel Hill, NC About Sprocket’s Breed: Our best guess is that Sprocket is a Corgi mixed breed. Corgis are bright, lively little herders with big personalities packed into small, sturdy bodies. They’re affectionate, intelligent, and people‑oriented, often forming strong bonds with their families while still showing an independent streak. Their ideal home is one that can meet their moderate-to-high energy needs with daily walks, play, and mental stimulation. Because they were bred to herd, they thrive in households that offer structure, engagement, and plenty of togetherness—they don’t enjoy being left alone for long periods. What to Love about Sprocket: Sprocket learns quickly — he mastered “sit” in a single day — and he’s great in a fenced yard or on leash! Sprocket loves everyone he meets and has lived happily with kids (ages 9 and 14) and other small dogs. He’s friendly with strangers out and about, playful with dogs, polite with cats, and absolutely adores greeting his people with full body excitement! Though he isn’t crate trained, he will eat inside a crate and can be left loose in the home without being destructive. He can climb out of a playpen, but he’s otherwise an easy, well mannered little guy. At night, Sprocket sleeps soundly and loves curling up in bed with his humans — compact, cuddly, and quiet, with total little spoon vibes. He’s fully potty trained and enjoys a variety of toys, especially small tennis balls, squeaky toys, ropes, and long lasting chews. If no one is available to play, he happily entertains himself and is a joy to watch. Sprocket thrives with another dog in the home and loves playing and snuggling with canine friends. He does bark at dogs during walks because he’s excited to meet them, but he’s very friendly once he gets to meet them! He has also been very polite and good with the kitties he’s met. With medium energy and simple needs — just a few walks a day and lots of closeness — Sprocket is looking for a family who will let him stay near, snuggle often, and love him as much as he loves them! Sprocket’s Sparkling Highlights: • Smart little learner — mastered “sit” in one day and knows his name perfectly • Friendly with everyone — great with kids, strangers, and other dogs and cats • Cuddly bed buddy — sleeps through the night and loves being the little spoon • Fully potty trained — reliable and easy in the home • Medium energy companion — happy with a few walks and play sessions each day • Self entertaining player — loves tennis balls, squeaky toys, ropes, and chews • Dog loving social butterfly — thrives with another playful dog in the home • Great in a yard or on leash — adaptable and easy to manage outdoors • Not destructive — can be left loose at home even though he’s not crate trained • Happy greeter — gets adorably excited when his people come home Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We assist with coordinating transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!  June 3, 2026, 9:34 am

Story
Meet Ginger 🧡Ginger is a playful, loving little dog with a big personality. About two years ago, she was found as a stray by my mom, who searched for her owner and eventually gave her a safe, loving home. After my mother recently passed away, we are now looking for the right forever home for Ginger. She gets along well with our other family dog and loves to play and be around people. Ginger is affectionate, funny, curious, and full of energy. She also has a mischievous side — if there’s an open trash can or laundry basket nearby, she may decide to investigate — so she’ll do best with someone patient who can give her structure and attention.Ginger has been through a lot of change, and we want to find her a stable, loving home where she can feel safe and happy again. She’s a sweet dog with a loyal heart and would make a wonderful companion for the right person or family.

Story
Some dogs arrive in rescue angry at the world. Others arrive completely shut down. And then there are dogs like Eddie — little souls who have every reason not to trust people anymore, yet still look at you with hopeful eyes and quietly ask for love.   Eddie is an absolutely adorable one-year-old Beagle mix weighing about 30 pounds, and everything about him is endearing. From his compact little body to his soulful face and soft expression, he is impossible not to fall in love with. He has the kind of face that makes you want to scoop him up, sit down, and promise him that life is finally going to be better.   Sadly, Eddie’s beginning was anything but easy.   He was rescued from a neglect and abandonment situation along with eight other dogs. They had clearly been surviving rather than truly living. Although friendly, they were frightened and unsure of the world around them. It is heartbreaking to imagine how long Eddie went without the stability, affection, and care every dog deserves.   But despite everything, this sweet boy’s spirit is shining through almost immediately.   Within a single day in foster care, Eddie has already started relaxing and showing his true personality. His foster mom says he is soaking up affection and beginning to understand that kindness is real. He has welcomed the companionship of the other dogs in the home and has quickly traded fear for hopeful little smiles and a wagging tail.   Eddie is not an overwhelming or demanding dog. He is the kind of companion who simply wants to be near his people. He is quiet, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love. Whether he is curling up beside you after a long day or trotting happily along on a walk, Eddie seems grateful for every small moment of comfort and attention.   We truly believe Eddie could fit beautifully into many different homes and lifestyles. He would make a wonderful family dog for children wanting a loyal best friend. He would thrive with a young couple looking for a devoted companion in an apartment or condo. He could also be the perfect addition to an empty-nester home where he could enjoy walks, adventures, and peaceful evenings filled with love and companionship.   What Eddie wants most is what he has likely never had — consistency, safety, and someone who will never leave him behind again.   He is fully grown, fully ready for a forever home, and fully deserving of a life filled with kindness and commitment. Somewhere out there is the family meant for Eddie, and when they find him, they are going to wonder how they ever lived without him.   To give Eddie the loving future he deserves, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 3, 2026, 12:32 pm
