Story
I adopted Kona when she was four years old, and she is now thirteen years old. I cannot put into words what an incredibly wonderful, loving dog Kona is. She is extremely playful, and is always ready to have fun. About a year ago, she started having problems with her back legs, which eventually led to both of her back legs not working. I tried to a doggie wheelchair, but she never adapted to it. So, I bought a sling for her back legs, which has been working very well. However, it does require her being walked while lifting her back legs off the ground. This has not been easy for me to do - I am 74 years old, and have back issues. I can no longer walk Kona because of my back. I love her so much, but find myself in the unfortunate position of having to find her a new home. I cannot tell you how hard this is for me to do. I am looking for a loving owner for Kona. I would be happy to pay for her food and vet bills - I just want her to be with a loving person or family.

Story
Kona is a female tri-color corgi, 13 years old. Very sweet with lots of personality. Due to spine problems, she can no longer walk on her own. She does well with a sling—-going outside to potty and go for short walks. However, this requires a strong person without back or shoulder problems. We are seniors with physical health issues and are no longer able to take care of her. She has been staying with a dog sitter at her home for the past four months. The dog sitter has a husband, 11 year old son, and two small dogs. Kona has done well with all of them, but we are not sure how she would do with other pets and children. The dog sitter is only able to keep Kona until the end of June. We love Kona very much and would like to find her a good home with someone who is loving, patient, and able to accommodate her special needs.

Story
Lady Lucy – Sweet Survivor  Some dogs have a way of capturing your heart the moment you meet them, and Lady Lucy is certainly one of those dogs. Though her past appears to have been filled with uncertainty, she has emerged from it with a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and an unwavering belief that good things are still ahead. Lady Lucy was one of nine dogs discovered living in a remote wooded area of Middle Tennessee after they were apparently abandoned when their owner fell on difficult times. No one knows exactly how long they survived on their own, but their situation touched the hearts of many rescue volunteers who came together to help. With patience, food, water, and kindness, the dogs were gradually brought to safety. Rescue groups across the region stepped forward to help, and Critter Cavalry Rescue was fortunate enough to welcome Lady Lucy into its care. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Lucy had once known the comforts of a home. She settled in beautifully and quickly showed everyone what a wonderful companion she is. At just over a year old and weighing 32 pounds, Lucy is the perfect size for a family looking for a smaller dog with a big heart. She appears to be a delightful mix of Corgi and Beagle, though her most remarkable feature is her personality. She is affectionate, gentle, and full of love, with the easygoing nature often found in hound breeds. Whether she's relaxing beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room, Lucy simply wants to be close to her people. She is fully grown, crate trained, housebroken, and has excellent manners in the home. Lucy currently lives successfully with other dogs and does very well in an active household with teenagers, but she has made it clear that she would not mind having a little less competition for attention. After all she has been through, we think she would happily embrace a life where she can enjoy a bit more of the spotlight and receive the princess treatment she believes is rightfully hers. Lady Lucy has a way of looking into your eyes that makes you feel like you've known each other forever. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds, offers unwavering companionship, and fills a home with warmth and comfort. Her difficult past has not diminished her capacity to love; if anything, it seems to have made her even more appreciative of every kindness she receives. Now all that remains is for the right family to find her. Lady Lucy is packed and ready for her next adventure, with an open heart and a hopeful spirit. She is ready to leave her difficult past behind and begin the life she has always deserved with a family who will cherish her as the special girl she truly is. To learn more about Lady Lucy or to request an adoption application, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 24, 2026, 11:33 am

Story
Meet Ginger 🧡Ginger is a playful, loving little dog with a big personality. About two years ago, she was found as a stray by my mom, who searched for her owner and eventually gave her a safe, loving home. After my mother recently passed away, we are now looking for the right forever home for Ginger. She gets along well with our other family dog and loves to play and be around people. Ginger is affectionate, funny, curious, and full of energy. She also has a mischievous side — if there’s an open trash can or laundry basket nearby, she may decide to investigate — so she’ll do best with someone patient who can give her structure and attention.Ginger has been through a lot of change, and we want to find her a stable, loving home where she can feel safe and happy again. She’s a sweet dog with a loyal heart and would make a wonderful companion for the right person or family.

Story
Hans is a 2-year-old male Welsh Cardigan Corgi mix who’s ready to find his forever home. This handsome boy is in foster care. Hans is: • Neutered & up to date on care • 2 years old • Friendly, intelligent and super sweet • A perfect mix of playful energy & cuddle time. With his short legs, expressive face, & charming personality, Hans turns heads wherever he goes. He’s affectionate with people, enjoys companionship, & would love a home where he can be part of daily life — whether that’s going for walks, playing in the yard, or relaxing on the couch. Hans would do best with: • A family or individual ready to give him love & someone who has a fenced in backyard. He loves being outside and being part of a family. • Regular exercise & mental stimulation. He loves protecting the yard more than anything and gets along with other dogs, babies and kids just not cats.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please click on Bailey’s photo to read all about her.Don't let the short legs fool you, this girl can move!  Bailey is a very smart, and active girl who wants humans that are the same.  She adores exploring, and going for walks and hikes, and if you are also looking for a dog who will join you for a day or evening out in dog friendly places, she would adore to join you!  She's would do best with a family who wants to continue her training, she loves to learn new things.  If you are looking for a dog to join you in agility or a fun dog sport- she's your gal.    She can be a bit sassy with other dogs, so she needs a patient dog in the home- one that will be a good role model (a male is preferred).  She'd also be ok as an only dog.  She does well with kitties, but a dog savvy cat would be best.  All children in the home should be 10 and over.  Since she is active, she does require a fenced yard (physical fencing, please).  Baily has been fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped- she just needs to find her forever people.  If you meet her adoption criteria, please apply today.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 22, 2026, 1:31 pm
