After asking around, we learned that a family in a nearby house had kept her and left her behind when they moved away. She was pregnant when she was found. Sadly, her puppies were never found, and we believe they were swept away during the heavy monsoon rains. Since her rescue, she’s been staying at our partner shelter in Korea, where she’s grown even more loving and attached to people than when she first arrived.PersonalityGeumsoon is a sweetheart who loves every person she meets. When someone walks into her kennel in the morning, she’s clearly thrilled to see them. With new people, she doesn’t hesitate at all. She walks right up, shows off her sweet side, and asks to be petted. She loves being held and cuddled, and there’s no spot on her body she minds being touched. Her two favourite things are people and treats. Her energy level is on the lower side of moderate, and when she’s on her own, she naps.CompatibilityGeumsoon loves men and women equally. When elementary school volunteers visit the shelter, she stays calm and relaxed around them. If she is adopted by a family with children, parents should always supervise interactions to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. It is important that parents take full responsibility for teaching both their children and their dog how to interact appropriately.Geumsoon gets along well with other dogs. She isn’t a rough player and prefers to sit quietly next to her dog friends. She doesn’t guard her food or toys.Geumsoon hasn’t lived with cats before, so we can’t say for certain how she’d do. Knowing her easygoing nature, though, we think it’s possible with a slow, gradual introduction, plenty of patience, and enough space for each of them to have their own retreat while they get used to one another.Behaviours & TrainingGeumsoon goes to the bathroom outdoors. She walks well on a leash and harness and doesn’t react much to other dogs, cars, or motorcycles. She travels well in the car, behaves well at the vet, and is easy to bathe, brush, and trim. She doesn’t chew things she shouldn’t, and she doesn’t bark. She already knows “sit,” “paw,” “wait,” and “down.” She shows no signs of separation anxiety.Health & DietGeumsoon is spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She takes monthly parasite preventatives. She has had puppies before. She has no known allergies and no history of additional surgeries or treatments. Her teeth are clean. She has passed the veterinary screening and is healthy and ready for a forever home. She eats kibble twice a day. She eats everything well.Ideal HomeGeumsoon is sweet and easygoing, so she’d fit into many kinds of homes. A big or small family, a retired couple, or first time dog owners would all be a good match for her. She doesn’t ask for much. She just wants to be close to you and get plenty of cuddles.Geumsoon has so much love to give, and she’s ready to share it with a family of her own.
