Story
Meet Joel 4-year-old | Neutered Male | Welsh Corgi Brown & White | 7.6 kg | 31 cm Rescue Story   Joel was rescued in April 2025, just before his scheduled euthanasia. Thanks to timely intervention, he was given a second chance at life and is now looking for his forever home.   Personality & Socialization   With People: Joel is a very affectionate and friendly boy. He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, enjoys being petted, and often rubs against them for attention. He’s known to give kisses to people he meets on walks and loves showing affection. He does well with both men and women. While he hasn’t had direct experience with children under 13, once he feels comfortable, he will happily roll over and show his belly.   With Other Dogs: Joel is social and friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs, often approaching them to say hello and invite play. That said, he clearly prefers human companionship over dogs. He may set boundaries with very high-energy dogs, rough players, or dogs that try to mount him, letting them know he’s uncomfortable. He does best with dogs of similar size and energy level.   With Cats: He showed little to no reaction to cats encountered outdoors. Cat testing can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   For a Welsh Corgi, Joel has a calm and balanced energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and walks but settles down nicely afterward and is not overly excitable.   ‍ Walks & Leash Skills   Joel does tend to pull a bit on leash but generally follows his handler well. He loves to “run,” though his short legs limit his speed. He is confident even on busy streets with traffic and enjoys greeting people he meets along the way.   Other Notes • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • May bark when people approach while he is in a kennel • Calm and well-behaved when crated • Currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas   Health update Joel has mild hip dysplasia, but he’s currently walking normally and doing great. No surgery needed at this time   Joel is a loving, people-oriented companion who will thrive in a home that enjoys gentle outdoor activity and lots of affection. He’s ready to give his whole heart to his forever family. Apply to adopt or foster https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. For Adoption: Marble! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Cuteness alert!! Here’s Marble, an adorable tri blue merle, 8mth old Pembroke Corgi ready to find her forever home. If a Corgi is a breed of dog that has been on the top of your wish list then have a read, ‘cuz this here is a great little dog. And what a colouring she has!! She draws a lot of attention everywhere she goes. Weighing in at a whopping 16lbs this cutie has a bit of filling out to do but will always be a smaller Corgi. She came to us from a commercial breeding operation as part of an unsold and then unwanted litter. Due to this she spent her first 7mths in a kennel environment so we are teaching her all about the world around her. Marble is equal part brave and timid. New things scare her, but then when she realizes that these things are actually fun, or not dangerous, she is all in and ready to go. She just needs more gentle and gradual exposure to the world around her but has a lifetime ahead of her to do so. Marble is a complete love bug and doles out affections whole heartedly. This is a dog who is 100% sure that Corgi’s were bred to be lap dogs and she does like a lot of lap cuddle time. She gets her best naps sprawled out across her person’s lap too. And while she is up on your lap she has a whole lot of gentle kisses to dole out too. If you don’t enjoy doggie kisses then Marble won’t be the pup for you as she feels kisses are completely necessary. Due to her stubby legs she can’t make the jump up onto the couch without a good run at it, so she does the cutest little front legs up, adorable puppy dog eyes look, waiting for a boost. She doubles up the cuteness by often times having a stuffie in her mouth as she wants to cuddle and snuggle with her stuffie at the same time. Marble has cuteness mastered and she uses it to her advantage often. We also have a set of carpeted pet stairs for her to access the couch and she uses these happily. Marble is completely crate trained and is quiet in her crate. She is crated whenever we aren’t home and at night. She sleeps the whole night through without a peep. Marble is doing really well with her housetraining as well. We take her out regularly and she will get her jobs done outside. She doesn’t know how to ask to be taken out so you need to be proactive and let her out regularly, but by doing this we haven’t had an accident in the house since she arrived. Marble can do the deck stairs without issue and with time and training would be able to do stairs in the house too as long as they aren’t slippy. Marble would do well in many housing situations. A house with a fenced backyard would be really nice as she does love to run freely in the yard and play…but she doesn’t enjoy being outside by herself so does want her people out with her. She would do equally well in a home without a fenced yard and going for walks and hikes for her exercise. She is doing well on leash and will do her potty business while out on a walk. She is nervous of new areas so gentle and gradual introduction to her new neighbourhood is needed. Marble will not do well in a busy traffic area, be that foot traffic and/or vehicle traffic. She is a sensitive puppy and still learning about the world outside of a kennel, and we don’t want to overwhelm her and harm her budding confidence. A quiet rural area, town or subdivision will suit her well. Marble is a quiet dog in general but is an alert barker, as all good Corgi’s are, so she wouldn’t be suited to an apartment building with hallway or neighbour noises. But a quiet low rise, small building, like a triplex for example might be suitable for her as long as there is some greenspace outside and the neighbourhood is quiet. Marble is being fostered with other dogs. She was initially scared of them, but her foster siblings are calm, quiet, and well-mannered dogs who gave her the space she needed and by day 2 she was comfortable with them all, and is now good with them. She would do fine in a home with a male dog just like her foster dog siblings who is a passive dog. She will not do well in a home with a female dog. Corgi’s are known for not enjoying living with dogs of the same sex. Marble has shown some sassiness around some of her prized toys with her foster siblings. She is easily corrected and is learning she doesn’t need to be greedy over toys, but she would need the other dog in the home to not care about this and not react. Marble would do just as well being the only dog in the home and getting all of her people’s attention. Marble is also being fostered with very dog savvy cats. Kitties are scary to Marble and she is still getting used to these strange creatures and while she no longer shrieks in fear when a cat makes an appearance, she is still not 100% comfortable around the cats. In more time she will only get better. She could go to a home with a totally dog savvy cat that will give her space and ignore her like her foster cats do, but any cat that will pester her, swat her or pay any undo attention to her will be too scary for her at this time. Marble is very affectionate and good natured and could share her home with gentle natured children over the age of 7yrs old. A chaotic, loud home would be overwhelming for Marble but quieter kids who would enjoy puppy kisses, petting her and playing with her would be nice for Marble. Marble doesn’t love car rides quite yet but this is a work in progress. Again, a short while ago she was living in a kennel, so all things are new to her. For car rides we crate her for safety and security. She is quiet in the car and doesn’t get car sick which is really nice. Marble enjoys meeting new people in a quiet area. Give this dog another 6mths and she is going to be a social butterfly, she just needs to build more confidence in the big world around her. Marble loves treats and food and so training her with positive reinforcement with praise and treat rewards works really well for her. She will take to training well, she is a very smart little dog. True to her herding breed nature, she loves to work, wants to please and loves learning new things. Marble has already learned to play fetch and retrieve games with stuffies and loves to run after them when you toss them and will bring them back to you for the next toss. She is really good at giving them up and gets rewarded with verbal praise and another toss of the toy. Anyone interested in Marble needs to be very knowledgeable on the Pembroke Corgi and be suited to the needs of this breed. She is a moderately active dog and is nicely sated with a couple good walks a day and some yard play. But, she does need these walks and play time daily as she is a young herding breed. We want Marble to live her best Corgi life so her forever family must be able to manage the needs of her breed and be invested in training as Marble needs to have her brain worked as well as getting her physical needs met. She has been to the vet and gotten all her medical needs taken care of and is a healthy dog. She is at a perfect age to join a family and continue on her journey of learning about the world around her. Her people just need to be kind and caring and fully understand that she needs to be introduced to new things gently so that she can grow in confidence and not be scared or overwhelmed. She is a brave girl at heart but just nervous about new things to start. Corgi’s are a fabulous dog for the right person/family and we are looking for that perfect fit. We know that they are adorable, especially with their stubby legs, little fluffy Corgi bums and the way they sploot on the floor legs out behind them, but we also need to take into account that they are a highly intelligent herding breed so they need to work. If you know that Corgi’s are the breed for you and your lifestyle tell us why in the adoption application! We want to hear from you! Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Romang Age: 3 years old Gender: Female (Neutered) Breed: Welsh Corgi Color: Merle (white, brown, black with gray spots) Weight: 9kg / 20lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city pound in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, after being found alone and abandoned. The shelter was overcrowded, but kind humans stepped in just in time to save me. I’m now safe, cared for, and hoping to find my forever home where I can finally settle in and be loved.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet and curious girl with all the charm of a true corgi! I absolutely adore people and get so excited whenever the care staff visit—I show my love with gentle little nips on their ankles, just to say “hey, I’m happy to see you!” I get along well with other dogs too, and I’m loyal to my crew—I’ll step in to support my friends if they’re having a disagreement, though I quickly calm down when staff or volunteers intervene. I love exploring and observing my surroundings—one of my favorite pastimes is looking through the fence at the care facility, watching cars, people, and other dogs go by. I can be vocal, especially if other dogs bark at me, and yes, my voice is as big and bold as any true corgi’s!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I absolutely adore people and love being the center of attention! I enjoy snuggling in your arms, soaking up pets, and just being near my humans. While I haven’t had much experience with kids yet, my friendly nature means I’d likely do well with dog-savvy children. I’m comfortable being picked up and love feeling safe and secure, and once I trust you, I’ll even roll over to show my belly as a special sign of affection. · With Dogs: I get along well with my dog friends and love meeting new friends! I usually do best with larger dogs and am generally friendly and social, but I’m also a loyal companion. If another dog is being rude to my friends or me, I won’t back down, so thoughtful introductions and careful management are important when meeting new dogs. With patience and guidance, I thrive in a happy, well-balanced pack! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is currently unknown, but a cat test can be arranged upon request to help ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level and really enjoy a bit of outdoor time to run, explore, and stretch my legs. I love discovering new sights and smells, and nothing makes me happier than a little adventure followed by some cozy downtime.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food with people or other dogs and generally have a calm, easygoing temperament. I can give a little bark when I meet new people or want attention—not too much, but enough to show my personality, as you might expect from a corgi! In new environments, I might mark a little, but I’m very trainable. I walk well on leash, follow my handler’s lead, and am highly responsive to my name and recall, making me a smart and reliable companion.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever. Ideally, I’d love a family who understands corgi personalities and has experience with corgis—people who appreciate my playful energy, loyalty, and charming quirks.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m considered a level 1 rescue dog, which means I will settle in quickly with my new family, taking just a few days to feel comfortable. I’m super friendly with people and dogs, and I come with that irresistible corgi charm! I’m goofy, curious, and full of personality—I promise I’ll make you smile and laugh with my playful silliness. I have a big appetite and am very eager to learn, making training easy and fun. I respond well to my name and recall easily. That said, during my early days in a new home, it’s important that I’m double-leashed with both a harness and collar and have a GPS tracker when outside, to keep me safe until I’m fully settled and confident with my new family.   Romang's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2612555##

QUICK FACTS Name: Dongdong Age: Estimated 2 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Corgi–Jindo mix Color: White Weight: 6.7 kg / 14.7lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was abandoned at the airport and wandered there for about a month, unable to leave the place where I was left behind. Now that I’m safe, I’m ready to start a new life with a loving family   MY HEALTH Feb 10, 2025: DHPP (Core vaccine) + Canine Coronavirus Feb 26, 2025: DHPP (Core vaccine) + Canine Coronavirus + Rabies Apr 9, 2025: DHPP (Core vaccine) + Kennel Cough + Canine Influenza Jun 1, 2025: DHPP (Core vaccine) + Kennel Cough + Canine Influenza Spayed & healthy with no known health issues     MY PERSONALITY Hello, I am Dongdong. I’m a bright and playful pup who gets along well with doggy friends I click with. I can be a little mischievous, so sometimes other dogs nip at me, but I’m always ready to make new friends!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly with treats and enjoy being petted. I can be gently picked up by placing an arm under my belly. Once I feel comfortable, I’ll happily show my belly for rubs. · With Dogs: I get along well with other dogs and like to greet and play, even with dogs I don’t know. I’m usually friendly with dogs of a similar size. However, I can get jealous of other dogs, so I would do best as an only dog in my new home. · With Cats: I haven’t had any interactions with cats yet, so my reaction to them is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a normal energy level and enjoy outdoor activities, but I relax calmly afterward. I have plenty of experience on walks, and I follow my human well without pulling on the leash.   TRAINING & HABITS I bark when I see strangers. I stay calm when I’m in a crate. I use both indoor pads and outdoor areas for going to the bathroom.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m a small and adorable pup who needs a patient family to help me fully adjust. I warm up quickly to people with treats, even if I’m shy at first. While I can get along with big dogs, I tend to do better as an only dog. My perfect home would be calm and loving, where I can feel safe and gradually build confidence.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a small and adorable pup. I tend to run away from strangers and don’t always let them touch me, but I can’t resist treats, so I warm up quickly. I’m a level 2 rescue dog, so I’ll need some time and patience to fully adjust to my new home. I get along with big dogs, though I can sometimes be a bit pushy and unaware of my own strength.   Dongdong's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2609458##

Story
Dave is a lovely 3-yr old Corgi. He loves his walks and can be very active. He requires physical and mental stimulation but also can entertain himself and nap in his bed. Dave is very sweet, affectionate and loves to hang out with his human and will ask for pets and belly rubs. He is housetrained and can be left alone uncrated, with no barking or destructive behaviour. Dave loves to greet all dogs and humans. He is very curious and wants to be friends with everyone. He doesn’t always “read the room” when other dogs are reactive and tell him "go away" he might continue his friendship request He only barks when he hears people outside so he would probably do best in a house.  Dave can be skittish and sensitive to loud noises and moves very fast when he is scared. He can also get “mouthy” when excited. He gets underfoot and will sometimes nip at your feet and can be a tripping hazard. As a herding breed this is done out of playfulness and instinct, not aggression.  He is a smart little dog and will benefit from some basic training. He will come when called but cannot be left in an unfenced area off leash as he is easily spooked and will be a flight risk. Dave would benefit from living with more than one person and/or with another dog who would be a play companion.  While he has met children and seems to love them, he does jump up to meet them, therefore he would do best in a home with older children.December 14, 2025, 8:40 am

Story
Meet Ari Current Location : S. KOREA 📌 Breed: Welsh Corgi 📌 Age: Estimated 3 years old 📌 Sex: Female 📌 Weight: 13 kg 📌 Spayed/Neutered: Yes, spayed 💛 Temperament Ari gets along well with both men and women, though she seems to feel a bit more comfortable with female caregivers. She loves every human she meets on walks and eagerly rolls over for belly rubs. She has never shown any aggression and has only displayed a sweet, gentle nature. 👶 Good with Children? Yes. She happily greets all people, including kids, and immediately shows her belly. 🐶 Good with Other Dogs? Ari mostly ignores other dogs. Even when another dog comes up to sniff her, she acts as if nothing is happening and simply minds her own business. 🐱 Good with Cats? She has never met a cat yet. 🍖 Food Motivation She LOVES food. She finishes her meals instantly and enjoys treats as well. ⚡ Energy Level Ari has a low activity level. She prefers short walks—after about 15 minutes she tends to stop walking, likely because she is currently a bit overweight. 🦮 Leash Trained? Yes. 🏡 Crate/Kennel Trained? She has not been formally crate trained, but she loves having her own space. If you lay out a blanket, she chooses that spot to rest. 🚻 House-Trained? Yes. She uses indoor pee pads but also does her business well during walks. 🗣 Barking She rarely barks. She may bark briefly out of excitement when someone comes home, but otherwise she is very quiet. 🏃‍♀️ Escape Risk Yes — Ari is a little bit scary. She may run and hide suddenly when she feels startled, even inside the house. Extra caution is needed during the adjustment period. 🤗 Handling She absolutely loves being touched and will expose her belly all day for pets. No issues with handling any part of her body. 🧸 Destructive Behavior In the beginning, she chewed a computer cable, so everything is now covered. She has also torn a pee pad twice. Other than that, she hasn’t caused trouble. She’s still learning how to play with plush toys, so she plays only in short sessions. 🎁 Resource Guarding No signs of guarding food or toys. 🩺 Health Issues None at this time. 🐾 Rescue Story Ari was rescued from a breeding facility. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate, but also sometimes frightened due to her past. With patience, love, and a calm environment, she will blossom into a wonderful companion.
