Story
Meet Tulip! Tulip is a sweet little lady. Our guess is she’s middle aged. Our best guess is that she is a corgi/miniature pinscher mix. She loves to be your lap dog, and will gladly settle in for a comfy nap if you let her! She has been quiet in her foster home, and shown to be crate trained and keeps her kennel clean. Tulip has also shown to be people social and generally indifferent to dogs. She has not been around kids for any extended time as far as we are aware, but she was friendly and social with a small child who helped with getting her into her foster home. While we think she would be okay in a home with kids at this time, supervision will be very important for everyone’s safety and comfort! Tulip was surrendered to a local animal shelter when she had a small bite incident with her previous owner while being handled. She was in a situation with an owner who was having mental health issues, and this is believed to have contributed to the situation. While in foster care, we have confirmed she doesn’t like her feet touched, and she had a tough time with a groomer. However, we are now working on muzzle training her for these situations, which should help everyone to stay safe as she builds her comfort and confidence back up for this! She has not replicated any bite behaviors despite her foster/trainer exposing her to everything!
