Story
Mazie is a 6 year old purebred Cornish Rex who came to us when her owner could no longer care for her. Mazie is an active, affectionate girl with such a good personality! She needs to be involved in everything and likes to sit directly on your chest. She is quite the snuggler and will sleep in your bed with you like a human.  Mazie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and fiv/felv.  Her recent bloodwork was very good.  We had her visit a board-certified cardiologist due to her breed and she does have a mild, genetic form of HCM which is very common for the breed.  She does not need medication at this time, but would need an annual echocardiogram to monitor her condition.  Mazie has lived with other cats in her previous home, but she is not reacting well to the resident cats in her foster home, even after a few months of slow introductions.  For this reason we believe she should be only cat, or can go home with one of the other Rex cats she came in with, but we are not requiring this.  In-state adoptions only due to our return policy.  Breed experience, HCM experience or vet-tech experience will be preferred.   Please note that the Cornish Rex breed is temperature-sensitive, their curly, sheep-like coat requires regular brushing to distribute the oils, and regular ear cleaning. The coat does not get matted and there is very little shedding.  To Apply, complete an application here:  https://forms.gle/Tep1J4LTi12PjPuCA For questions, please email here:  jerseyaws@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2026, 10:57 am
