Meet Wizard, a 6 year old, 8 lb Shih Tzu boy! You may remember he was rescued by a Good Samaritan after being seen thrown from a car. We named him Wizard because he sometimes just suddenly appears next to you! He is good with other dogs but we have not seen him with cats. Wizard is adorable, however he is a SPECIAL ADOPTABLE! Wizard prefers women to men — probably due to his prior experience and we are seeking an EXPERIENCED ADOPTER who has dealt with behavioral issues and a NO KIDS home! Wizard quickly bonds to his human and is a velcro dog once he knows and trusts you.- until then he requires a go-slow approach and ideally it is best to have a "let him come to you" attitude - afterall he has been through quite a traumatic experience and we suspect his past living conditions were not much better nor kinder. With that said, he is an ace snuggler and likes to be as close as possible while on the couch. He has excellent house manners and has free roam of his foster home when his humans are out. He enjoys joining his humans on outings and does great in the car. He also loves to go on walks and is a great on a leash. Wizard is a low key guy but will alert you to any unknown activity outside by barking. He would do best in a single family quiet home. Our cutie patootie has a selective appetite — he must have been fed people food and will turn down dog treats. We are confident over time he can be reacquainted with food and treats more appropriate for dogs. His ADOPTION FEE is $300

Help us welcome Madeline, a precious 13 year old, 12 lb Shih Tzu. This sweet girl needs a family that will dote on her and allow her to live out her golden years in a loving and forever home of her own. Madeline is a very sweet girl with special needs - she is on a kidney diet, and has trouble with her back legs so walks around a bit but cannot go on walks. Madeline is a quiet and reserved little lady unless of course it's dinner time or time to go potty- she is an excellent communicator - LOL - she lets you know when her meals are to be served and when it’s time to get up in the morning. Madeline gets along very well with other dogs and quite frankly pays no attention to them - her world is her human. NO KIDS please- Madeline is too small and for her safety we would not want her to undergo rough play etc. We are looking for that special adopter to hold her and treat her like a princess for her golden years. Everyone say hi to Arfie, a 5 year old 32 lb shih tzu boy. Yes you read that right, Arfie weighs 32 lbs and is in need of a home that will take him on walks and give him the opportunity to shed some much need pounds---with that said this little boy is an " absolute gentleman" according to his foster mom. Arfie came to us after his elderly owner was unable to care for him longer due to her own personal issues----Arfie has come a long way from intake a few months ago when he was all of 39lbs!!! He just wants to please everyone, has excellent house manners and deserves a chance at a great life in a loving home. He gets along with EVERYONE and has yet to meet a person he doesn't wag his little tail at. Arfie apparently had a history of seizures when he was with his previous owner but since we have had him (and put him on medication) he has not had a single one.
