Story
Teddy is a sweet 13 year 9 months old Shih tzu that weighs 16 lbs. The poor boy had a owner for 10 years until she had to go into a nursing home then he moved to another apartment in the same building for 2 years until that new mom got sick and could no longer take care of him. We didn't know if he would be happy in a foster home because of all the dogs there but he fits right in and has been amazing. He has found his spot to sleep in his dog bed and seems to love the hectic household. It took him a couple weeks to want to jump up and sit in the lounge chair but that's his favorite place to be. Teddy has been recently diagnosed with small kidney stones so he has been put on a special dry dog food diet. The vet seems to think the new diet will clear up his stones. You would never know that Teddy is 13+. He gets the zoomies and just runs around the house. Teddy would love to have a final home where he can be loved on and treated like the special boy that he is. If you would like to be that person please apply at gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/. Teddy's adoption fee is $300. He has been neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines, and on heartworm and flea prevention. ##2048021##

Story
Hello! My name is Blaze and I’m a 7 year old male Bichon Frise. I was a breeder dog at a large farm, and now I have retired. My past life makes me a little scared, especially in new situations, but I am very brave, and with a little love and patience, I will be a loving companion forever. An outstretched hand scares me, but I will give it kisses. I will also jump up on the couch or bed and nap with my foster family.  I would like a home that has a fur brother or sister because I love dogs, and do well with cats, as well as a fenced yard. I love to be outside and run around. I still need some training on the leash.. I was recently returned because potty training has been hard for me. I lived surrounded by filfth my whole lie, so I am sill learning! With belly bands and consistent trips ouside, I do pretty well and will continue to improve. I will need someone who is patient and willing to give me time to get to know them. A quiet home with another dog will help me gain confidence. I am ready to show you love and tail wags. Blaze is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, has had a recent dental with extractions (he has no teeth anymore), heartworm negative, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is just $300.00. Please apply at gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##2465670##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Let me tell you the story of Dale, otherwise known as Springdale white dog. Dale is a Lhasa apso mix that was likely dumped in the Springdale cemetery with his blanket. We think the person that was going to drop them off at Peoria County after hours was going to leave him in one of the kennels, but they were closed. So instead, they left him at the cemetery with his blanket. That was the kindness that they did. Instead, he was left to fun for himself in a tunnel like setting for at least several weeks. This guy is young, maybe 6-8 months old. Dale is a friendly guy and he likes other dogs and cats. He’s quite hilarious actually. We aren’t quite sure why he was dumped. As soon as we learned of his case, Joe was on it. He laid the trap and it didn’t take long for Dale to go in. His stray hold is up and now he’s looking for a foster to adopt family. Dale will be ready to move in with that family after August 25th when he sees our vet. If you were interested in being considered to be Dale’s human, you can fill out an application on our website! #petpackrescue #petpackpeoria #lhasa #lhasaapso #lhasaapsolovers❤️
