If you are looking for a companion lap dog, look no farther. Introducing Eleanor, she's a 12 lb. 8-year-old Shih Tzu. Eleanor was recently returned to Needy Paws Rescue because her mama had to go into a nursing home and couldn't take Eleanor with her.    Eleanor is a precious  little girl that loves her food, being brushed but not a fan of getting her eyes cleaned or nail trimmed. Eleanor is crate trained housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash.   Eleanor prefers women and tolerates men but shy's away from them she WOULDN'T do good with small children. Eleanor barks at strangers but will warm up if given time Eleanor was a breeder release dog which means she is shy and skittish.   The best home for Eleanor will be a women only home and a small companion dog, a fenced yard unless taken out on a leash to potty. No small children please. Eleanor will be available for adoption after the 3rd of December. Her foster mom will be very choosy as to who adopts Eleanor.   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Eleanor’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. ** TOTAL LADIES' MAN!! ** NEEDS SAME SIZE COMPANION DOG & FENCED YARD **  NEEDS SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY ** Meet Trusty, a 6 yr old, 12 lb, ShihChon "Shih Tzu / Bichon Mix"  that was rescued from a breeder in such bad condition with matted hair, was shaved down. So the new hair is all growing back in. He really is such a sweetheart and Loves to sit on your lap and follow you around . Loves the Mommy in the house more than males in the house. He gets along with other little dogs his size.  He requires another dog his size in home & prefers female dogs. He needs to have a secured fenced yard ; He does potty in yard but will try to mark in the house unless he gets caught!    He'd love to have a retired mom or someone home a lot to let him outside often and to hang with . He's practicing walking on a leash and still needs some practice. Loud noises scare him a bit. Trusty would like to find a family to love, a companion dog in the home, fenced yard, a New Mommy who's home a lot and who will love him back!
