Story
WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: JiffBREED: Coton De Tulear DOB: Apr 13, 2026 (12 weeks)GENDER: maleHome Recommendation: Jiff would thrive in a loving home that is ready for the time, patience, and commitment that comes with raising a young dog. A family that can provide plenty of structure, positive reinforcement, and opportunities for socialization will help Jiff grow into a confident and well-adjusted companion. A predictable routine, continued training, and lots of love will be important as he learns about the world around him. Whether it’s exploring new places, learning new skills, or simply spending time with his people, Jiff is looking for a family who will help him feel safe, loved, and supported throughout every stage of life.Personality: Jiff is a sweet puppy who is discovering all the joys of being part of a loving home. He enjoys cuddling up in laps, relaxing for cozy naps, and spending time close to his people. He is becoming more confident each day and loves exploring around the house and yard as he learns about his surroundings. Jiff is also starting to show more of his playful side, beginning to jump around and enjoy playing with his toys. Watching his personality blossom has been so rewarding, and with continued love and encouragement, Jiff will continue to grow into a happy and affectionate companion.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTraining: Jiff is continuing to learn all the important skills that come with being a young dog. Jiff is doing well with potty training and is taken outside frequently throughout the day to help build a consistent routine. Because of this, he has had minimal accidents so far and is learning where he should go to the bathroom. With continued structure, patience, and positive reinforcement, he will continue to make great progress. He is also learning that his crate is a safe and comfortable place to relax and will continue to build confidence with regular crate time. He is becoming more comfortable exploring new environments and can now be guided around the yard and taken on short walks along the sidewalk. WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.Visit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
