Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**Due to Adalind needing spayed, her adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBD**ADALIND IS BONDED TO MONROE**Could she do well with kids? Yes, with children 10 years and older.Could she do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Adalind can be a friendly but mostly independent dog who prefers her own space and showed little desire for direct interaction. She tolerated husbandry handling but didn`t seek it out. Adalind enjoyed exploring indoors and outdoors but hesitated to cross doorways, possibly due to discomfort or a preference for the outside. She displayed low-level guarding behavior with stuffed toys, becoming tense when Monroe, her dog companion, or I approached, but did not attempt to bite. She engaged appropriately in play when invited, running around the room with Monroe and me.While eating, she preferred to eat without being handled. Adalind showed moderate stability around everyday objects and loud noises, but was frightened by the umbrella—she sought comfort from Monroe. She was initially hesitant around new people but improved quickly with proper handling. When meeting a new dog, she showed curiosity and was not afraid, even with a larger dog.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

He showed eagerness to engage during his assessment, especially with his companion, Adalind, and readily participated in activities when invited. He responded well to husbandry handling and enjoyed playing with Adalind and me. While he often sought reassurance from Adalind, following her closely wherever she went, he also showed his own personality.Monroe displayed good stability around everyday objects and sudden noises, recovering quickly when startled. He demonstrated no resource guarding, allowing me to handle his food, although he showed more interest in Adalind’s dish. When introduced to a larger, more pushy dog, he appeared fearful but handled the situation appropriately, maintaining a safe distance while correcting the other dog when necessary.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT
