Meet Mo! A soulful six-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix currently living in Atlanta, GA, whose gentle heart and tricolor coat are just waiting to be cherished in the right peaceful setting. Mo is a sweet snuggler, at 75 pounds, he still believes laps are made for him! While he’s calm and low-energy indoors, Mo bonds deeply once he feels safe, especially with women, and becomes a loyal shadow to his favorite person. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come. His favorite activity? Snuggling close and soaking up affection! He's the kind of dog who makes quiet evenings on the couch feel like the coziest place on Earth. But Mo’s heart beats a little faster in today’s noisy world. Since moving to a busy city apartment, the hustle and bustle have become too much for him. City walks filled with strangers, dogs, and unpredictable sounds leave him anxious and reactive. His ideal home is a calm, structured environment in a quiet rural or suburban area, with a securely fenced yard where he can enjoy the outdoors without overwhelming stimuli. Mo needs to be the only pet in the home. He’s a curious guy with a strong prey drive and unfamiliar animals can stress him out. He’s selective about other dogs and would thrive in a home without cats or frequent visitors. A guardian experienced with anxiety or reactivity in dogs, who uses positive reinforcement and has patience in spades, will help Mo begin to rebuild his confidence. Consistency and gentle companionship are key, and he’d do especially well with someone who works from home or has a predictable routine. While Mo does need ongoing support, he gives back tenfold with his affection, loyalty, and the quiet joy of simply being close to someone who makes him feel safe. He's neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and just needs to avoid poultry due to allergies. He also has mild arthritis in his hind legs, but that doesn’t stop him from curling up beside his favorite human for a good cuddle. Harlee is a sweet girl who walks well on a leash and is quiet at the shelter. She has a very gentle nature and loves everyone she meets. Harlee is about 3-years-old, 55lbs and looks like a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She has lived with another dog and is friendly with most dogs, but she is selective with her dog-friends and needs to be properly introduced. In a foster home, she was well-behaved, potty trained and crate trained.She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Looking for a dog who’s part social butterfly, part lovable weirdo? Meet Peter Pan, the 8-year-old, 55lb pup who does jazz hands when he sees other dogs (yes, actual jazz hands). Peter has been charming humans for over three years at the shelter. He’s friendly and social, but it’s the little quirks in how he does everything that make him unforgettable. Rescued in 2022 from an overcrowded shelter where he was skin-and-bones and on the euthanasia list, he’s now thriving, starring on his own beer label at Gulf Stream Brewery, and perfecting his belly rub negotiation skills. His hobbies? Sunbathing like a total diva, rolling in the grass like he’s auditioning for a rom-com, and befriending everyone at the local bar. He’s dog-friendly when properly introduced to other dogs, but not all dogs enjoy his enthusiastic roughhousing. He is very calm in his kennel and well-behaved and he never barks.
