Story
About Me Meet Hali – Your Soon-to-Be Shadow, Snuggle Buddy, and Adventure Pal! This gorgeous girl may have started her journey in a shelter, but she’s ready to leap into her forever home—paws first! We believe Hali is a stunning mix of Flat-Coated Retriever and Border Collie, and she brings the best of both breeds to the table: smart, sweet, playful, cuddly, and eager to please. Hali has been busy blossoming in her foster home—learning how to be a cherished companion. She’s housetrained, has wonderful indoor manners, and is a perfect lady when left alone for short periods. She gets along great with other dogs and even cats, and with her gentle, kind-hearted nature, we think she’d do just fine with respectful kids. Though she may be a little shy at first, it doesn’t take long for Hali to warm up—and when she does, she’s all in. From playing with her foster brother to snuggling on the couch, she’ll be your loyal best friend in no time. Bonus: she’s been working on her leash skills using a gentle leader and is making great progress! She’d absolutely thrive on an agility course and would benefit from obedience training to help her shine even brighter—this girl is smart and ready to learn. Hali is a joy to take out and about—she has perfect manners at restaurants and enjoys being in public social environments. She’s explored Liberty Station, BalboaPark, and the local malls like a total pro, taking it all in stride. No stress, no fuss—just a happy, well-behaved pup who enjoys being part of the action. And did we mention her wake-up routine? Hali starts each morning with a burst of love, giving her foster mom gentle kisses to greet the day. She adores her people and craves connection, making her the perfect companion for someone who works from home, has a hybrid schedule, or is an active retiree. My Ideal Home One with a yard to romp in and a family that’s ready to give her the time, attention, and activity she needs to thrive. While she could be happy as your one-and-only, Hali truly enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from continued social time—neighborhood walks, playdates, or weekend adventures. She rides well in the car, accepts handling with ease (even at the vet!), and is just waiting for her forever family to discover her. Want to Adopt me? If Hali is the girl of your dreams, please make sure you have first submitted a general adoption application and completed your home interview with a SCGRRescue Volunteer.
