Story
**All adoptions include a home visit. You must live in Broward or Palm Beach County. Bubbly, bold, and built for adventure, Brookie is a 2-year-old Dachshund Mix with a smile that lights up every room and a personality that fills up the rest of it. She is full of herself, expressive, affectionate, and absolutely convinced that she is the most interesting thing happening in any given space. She is usually right. Brookie is currently 18 pounds and working her way toward her ideal weight of 13-15 pounds, and she has decided this is less a diet and more a lifestyle upgrade. She loves to walk with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you want to step up your own fitness a bit too, and she is looking for a partner who will show up for her daily. In return, she will show up for you in every way a small, devoted dog possibly can.  Brookie knows how to keep herself entertained, and she is not shy about asking for help when she needs it. She will toss her toys around solo for a while, and then march right over and drop one in your lap as a not-so-subtle invitation to get in on a game of fetch. She is warm, engaged, and deeply interested in the people she loves. She will burrow under the blankets for the night, giving her people disturbance-free sleep, and she has the Dachshund's famous loyalty and sharp, curious intelligence, the kind that keeps her always watching, always learning, and always ready to be exactly where you are. Brookie has the classic long, low Doxie silhouette, and she carries it well. A set of pet steps by her favorite couch or bed and a home without long daily stair climbs are just part of keeping a girl with that shape comfortable and thriving for years to come, small, easy touches that become second nature fast. She is ready to find her person, apply now, and get to work on the best chapter of her life. Brookie's adoption fee is $500, which goes directly toward her vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip, as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested, please fill out the adoption application. For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page.  All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They are never kept in cages or crates unless there is a medical reason, and they are treated as family pets throughout their time with us. Our rescues are fed premium-brand holistic wet food diets along with supplements and vitamins tailored to each dog's individual needs. Every dog in our care receives complete quality vetting, including full dental cleaning with pre-op blood work, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs requiring specialized care are seen by the appropriate specialists, including full cardiac workups, ophthalmologist visits, and biopsy of any suspicious lumps or bumps. Every medical detail is shared transparently with potential adopters. When you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family, and we are here for you whenever you need us. ##2786320##

Story
Hi! This is Willow, she is 6 years old and Loves to run outside! She would do best with someone who has a yard or is willing to be relatively active with her! She’s very active, but very timid and anxious as well. It can take her awhile to adjust to new people and has varying results meeting new dogs. Bigger dogs intimidate her. She loves crinkle toys! She has a fear of thunder storms and will hide in small spaces. she knows basic commands, such as “sit, wait, and come here.” She also needs a home with no cats and no kids (maybe older ones who aren’t squealy or likely to spook her would be okay). But she does love having other doggy playmates, she’s just a bit timid at first but once she warms up she’s a bundle of energy running and playing lol! She is a cuddly girl too! And loves being under blankets!
