If interested in a meet and greet you must fill out the adoption application!  DOB: 8/1/25 Adoption Fee: $350 Neutered VaccinatedMicrochipped HW Negative and on Monthly Prevention  Rolo is a 6 month old Wire Haired Dachshund mix. He came to rescue after his owner unexpectedly had to move out of state and couldn't take him with him. So far, he has been very friendly and great with people and other dogs.  We are working on his crate training and he will still need help with potty training in his adoptive home. Like most puppies, consistency and routine would benefit Rolo! we do believe he would make an excellent addition to most families.  If interested in setting up a Meet And Greet please fill out our adoption application:  https://www.screvenspayandneuter.com/adoptabledogs You will be contacted by adoption coordinator if they have questions or you are approved to adopt.  _______________________________________________***If you choose to adopt (before all vetting is complete) and use your own vet rather than our local Snip Clinic for these services, you do so at your own expense and it will not reduce the adoption fee. Adoption fees are NON NEGOTIABLE. 1.) All dogs are adopted to the best possible match and calling or emailing the rescue will not speed up the process or liken your chances of being chosen. 2.) You will be notified by adoption coordinator if your application is approved. Adoptions are set up by appointment only. We do not have “hours” of operation. 3.) If the dog is posted as Available on Petfinder, it is available but may have pending applications and meet and greets set up. 4.) If you are not ready to immediately meet the dog you are applying for, please do not apply- we are too busy for window shoppers! Every dog is available to be taken home with you at the time of the meet and greet. 5.) We recommend you bring a carrier with you to transport the dog home as some can get carsick. Adult dogs and most puppies over 6 months of age will require a slip lead. 6.) Adoption fees can be paid with Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal and credit Card. SCSN Does not respond to Petfinder or Adopt A Pet "Inquiries". If you are interested in one of our available animals you MUST go to our website www.screvenspayandneuter.com and fill out an application.  Puppies have just arrived into rescue and are currently not even 5 weeks old. (DOB 1/19/26) They are legally required to remain in rescue until they are 8 weeks. Because of this, they will not be able to leave rescue until March 16th 2026. Please review the following important information regarding care and adoption timeline: Puppy will be able to leave rescue on March 16, 2026 assuming no complications arise. Puppy will have received 2 DHPP Vaccines prior to and date and will still require one additional Distemper/Parvo (DHPP) vaccine on March 21, 2026. Puppy will need rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age and spay/neuter surgery at approximately 6 months of age as per our adoption contract and licensing requirements through the GA Department of Agriculture. The remaining distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, and spay/neuter surgery are included in the $350 adoption fee if you use Fixing The Boro in Statesboro, GA, where we hold an established rescue account. If you choose to have these services done at your own veterinarian's office, it will have to be done at your own expense. We will reach out to you at around your puppies five-month birthday to set up the spay neuter appointment at the clinic we work with in Statesboro Ga. Prior to adoption, Puppy will be dewormed multiple times, receive 2 rounds of vaccines, microchipped, and will receive their first round of monthly flea, tick and heartworm preventative. While initial deworming is completed in rescue, we strongly recommend a fecal exam at your puppy’s first wellness visit, as parasites can still be present or require targeted treatment. If you are agreeable to these terms, please fill out our adoption application at www.screvenspayandneuter.com on the Adoptable Dogs page. Please DO NOT CALL the rescue unless you have been specifically given the phone number by one of the staff. 2.) You will be notified by the adoption coordinator if your application is approved. This will happen very quickly, usually the same or next day. (unless you apply on a weekend and vet records can not be verified in which case it will be the next day the vet is open.) Story
*** Kiddo  is currently in a foster home in New Jersey. Applications for  Kiddo  should be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to Register or Login). Questions about  Kiddo  and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the rescue's number.*** Her foster mom writes:  She needs time to decompress from living at the rescue but she  is smart and picking up on the routine.  Not completely house trained but no accidents in past 2 days. She loves playing, going for walks (good on the leash too) and cuddle time. Kiddo is adorable with short legs and a long body and has the dachshund personality:  spunky, curious, devoted, protective. Whenever we go out, she wants to go with us and does great in the car.  If we are on the couch, she is right there, can be a couch potato but also gets the zooms.  She lets you know when anyone walks in the house. (I told the kids they won't be able to sneak out now that she's here-LOL.).  When she was in GA, Kiddo was the staff favorite! She is so sweet. She is outgoing and loves attention. In GA she enjoyed playing with her friend Kasey but out of the shelter she doesn't seem to be as dog friendly. It could be that she just needs to decompress but we just want to play it on the safe side & say no other dogs and she would be happy with that. She just wants her human to love her! Kiddo's   former owner left her and her siblings at a local pet store during an adoption event with a "Free Puppies" sign attached to their crate. While the owner never returned to pick up the pups at the end of the day, he did leave information about the puppies on a flyer, which listed their date of birth and that they were Dachshund/Lab mix. The staff of the pet store struggled with the thought of having to simply leave the pups outside their store, but didn't have any other option. Luckily for the pups, Scott Bennett, President and CEO of SoCo Rescue, was shopping at the pet store just before they were scheduled to close for the day. Upon hearing of the pup's, Scott offered to take the pups to SoCo Rescue. Kiddo's siblings immediately caught the plane to New Jersey.  Not enough room for Kiddo so she has waited a while for her chance.  Despite living at our rescue for an extended time, Kiddo has remained very affectionate and playful.  She is now ready for her forever true home! Kiddo has been spayed and kept up to date on all of her vaccines, de-wormings and preventative care. Her recent heartworm test came back negative and she appears to be a very healthy dog. She will most likely require additional house and other basic training. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 23, 2025, 4:46 pm
