He’s a happy, curious little guy who loves exploring the backyard, playing with other dogs, and happily accepting treats from just about anyone. (Bribery? He fully supports it. )   He’s still learning the ropes with potty training and leash walking, so he’ll need a family ready to cheer him on as he figures out this whole “house pet” thing. But don’t worry—he’s a quick study, especially if snacks are involved.   Houdini also has a silly, playful side… he’s been known to zoom around like a tiny hot dog on a mission in a securely fenced yard (required for his safety), then suddenly flop down like he’s “mysteriously disappeared” until it’s time for cuddles again. ✨   If you’re looking for a sweet sidekick with floppy ears, a wagging tail, and endless potential, Houdini is ready to make his greatest trick yet… becoming your best friend. ❤️   While he is not ready for adoption yet, you can pre-apply at dakotadachshundrescue.org.   My adoption fee help with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter,  dental and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 9, 2026, 12:07 pm

Please fill out the online adoption application by clicking on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page.   Hi, Im Qynn. I'm a very skittish breeder release girl looking for a furever home of my own. Living life as a house pet is all new to me so I am working hard learning housetraining and wearing a harness. I have not mastered walking on a leash yet so a fenced yard is a must! I am very very skittish and need a lot of work on learning to trust people. I chew off a leash in minutes. I have to be cornered to be caught in the house. Do you have a soft spot and a lot of love and patience for a frightened girl like me? I am 7 years old, my adoption fee is $350 plus sales tax $15.75 = $365.75Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 9, 2026, 12:07 pm

This handsome guy came to DDR with Salchica because their owner was no longer able to care for them :( They are very sweet once they get to know you. They are housetrained, have always had a fenced yard, they are working on the harness and leash thing. They are typical dachshunds always hunting in the yard. Salchica is a princess, a lot more energetic and demanding than Smokie. Smokie is a pretty laid back kind of guy. They don't need to stay together as they are pretty independent of one another, they just need another dog in the house.Salchica and Smokie are 6 yrs young, Smokie weighs 19 pounds, his  adoption fee each is $350 plus sales tax $15.75=$365.75    His adoption fee help with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 9, 2026, 12:07 pm
