Story
Daisy is a sweet little six year old Dachshund mix that weighs around 21 pounds. She is a bit scared in the shelter and just wants a buddy. She would make a fabulous TV companion and couch warmer, but we are not positive she is trained in either skill. We do know that she has the cutest ears that may be able to channel several frequencies. Our adoption fee helps offset the cost of preparing our guests to enter a forever home! While expenses for each animal varies, the average healthy dog or cat receives $500 in medical treatment between intake and adoption. Variables in the cost are conditional based on guest needs with some topping out at thousands of dollars. Our adoption always includes: Basic health and wellness check by trained vet staffSpay/NeuterMicrochip with registrationUp-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies vaccine)Deworming, heartworm prevention and flea controlBasic Groom/BathFeline leukemia/FIV Combo testHeartworm testPost Adoption Benefits:Complementary veterinary wellness exam from AllPets Veterinary Clinic30-day free pet insurance policy from Trupanion30-day subscription to DOGtvLIFEtime Commitment from LIFEHouse for AnimalsLIFEtime Pet Companion Support from LIFEHouse for Animals A best friend for life!     Please visit our website https://www.lifehouse4animals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Bonded pair ! Will not separate. Amazing little dogs , 3 -4 years old. Very nice overall and sweet with other dogs. They are good with kids for little dogs. Not super fond of our five year old who doesn’t give them lots of personal space but quite reasonable overall. We have a big dog and we’re worried he may hurt their backs. We also have a baby on the way and want to downsize our dog pack. They are a bonded pair and must go together. They were in a house fire and quite clingy. They are house trained but winter time makes it hard on them as with most small dogs they aren’t fond of going out in the snow etc. but they will do it with encouragement. We crate trained them and they prefer sleeping like that now.

Submit an Application: We kindly ask that you submit an adoption application on our website to be considered for adoption. Please choose the appropriate application link below based on whether you are interested in adopting a dog or cat:~ Apply here (DOG): https://davincisdream.org/dog-adoption/~ Apply here (CAT): https://davincisdream.org/cat-adoption/3. Be Patient: Keep in mind that we are a volunteer-based organization, and we receive a high number of inquiries and applications. Due to these constraints, we may not be able to respond to every inquiry individually. However, submitting an application provides us with the necessary information to consider you as a potential adopter.**TRANSPORTS**We are based in Columbia, KY, and extend our services to other locations through our transport program. We strive to provide you with all the information you need right here. Please understand that due to the high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to questions covered in this FAQ section.1. Are your dogs potty trained?Unless the dog's bio specifically states that they are potty trained, you can assume they are not. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter.2. Do you transport to other locations?Currently, we transport to Wilmington, Ohio, Greenwood, Indiana, Washington, PA, and Lake City, FL.3. Is this cat/dog still available? If the cat or dog is listed on Adopt-A-Pet and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal.4. How long does it take to hear back about my application? It can take up to 10 days to receive a response from us. If you do not hear back within this timeframe, please understand that we may have chosen not to move forward with your application. We are a volunteer-based organization and, while we read every application, we may not be able to respond to each one individually.Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our fur babies and for taking the time to review these FAQs. Your support and understanding of our processes are greatly appreciated as we work tirelessly to find loving homes for our rescue animals.
