Story
BELLA is a cute lil dachshund ( long hair) with those short stubby legs but a chihuahua face...She's an adorable lil girl but has the " little dog attitude". If you are the one who feeds then you're her favorite person...Bella must be fed alone ( separate room) because she would sneak another pets food and complain lowdly that its hers....She is bonded to Kylo but we have let her spend her day with another male dog and she seems happy...as long as shes the only female...She has no known health issues...just attitude...Shes friendly, takes her time to assess newcomers....Independent but adventurous...She likes to go outside when its warm...and does not mind snow either....housetrained.

Story
Kylo and Bella are a bonded pair of dachshund chihuahua mixes. They are approximately 5 years old. They have doxie bodies and ears with little chihuahua faces. They love to snuggle, get lots of pets, and play outside. Kylo is the larger of the two...both have long hair. Kylo often gives Bella her own way...but they eat separately...Favors are given independently as they know who got the bigger bite. Kylo is mostly quiet and settled and a warm , soft bed, plenty of fresh water and a puppy pad nearby is all he needs. He loves to be outdoors weather permitting he can bask in the sunshine and play with his toy..He requires very little but is very appreciative of a pat and love and snuggles...He can easily become a couch potato if the weather is cold...but does not mind the rain... Health issues: Kylo has excellent blood work and we keep it checked annually...but he does have beginnings of Cushing ( some breeds do) so he takes on capsule daily at breakfast. Vet says he has an excellent chance of a full lifetime with this treatment...Other than thirst hes a normal pet...and of course a puppy pad to use. He is great with meeting new people, very friendly and affectionalte....He is not the bonded one...hes fine alone so lets talk about Bella

BUDDY BROWN's Story WANT TO MEET OR ADOPT ? Here's the link: https://www.kentuckydachshundrescue.com/adoption-process Have other questions? email us kydoxierescue@aol.com Buddy is a lover.....if you are a female he will give you his heart.....Want a fellow that's housetrained? He's got it covered. This fellow can snuggle up to you and make you really smile.... He's not pushy about it....He just has a great way with the ladies... He's also voice trained....so when you talk to him, its as though he really understands. Buddy will develop a bond like no other. He's okay being alone for several hours and never tears up anything or soils his surroundings. He is not a barker either....though he does whine some when youre on the other side of the door. He does great with female dogs as companions too ( small like him) but he'd rather not have to negotiate a toy with a male dog....Buddy is gentle and sweet until another dog growls at him, then he will defend himself. He may not be good with other farm animals is his one drawback...he watches them closely through the fence...but right now the roo has a fence between them...so youd never know how it would go....... He's a type of dog that really becomes your soulmate...Want to meet this special fellow? Story
BEAN is a miniature dachshund/chi...soaking wet he weighs in at 7 lb . He really settles in when he feels comfortable and is a sweet boy. He is very smart and watches his human for signals such as when she gets the leash he knows to sit, stay and allow it to be attached. The best leash for Bean is the expandable for as soon as he hears the click he is ready to take the lead. Once outside he knows exactly why he's there and waste no time taking care of business. He does like to explore but since its been cold, he's often ready to return inside. His favorite place inside is snuggling on the sofa wrapped in snuggly warm blankets. Bean loves attention and loves to meet new people ( if they are female visitors). He sometimes get excited when a newcomer shows up so we just pick him up and hold him til he calms down. It usually takes only a few minutes. Bean accepts other dogs but doesnt like them overpowering him. A small dog with Bean would be welcome as a friend....but not a dominant one. His short smooth coat requires only occasional bathing and he does not shed much at all. He loves the donut shape doggie bed we provide...He's a nippler so takes his time at mealtime so he needs to be fed alone ( assuri Show more How To Adopt BEAN was listed as Adoptable by Kentucky Dachshund Rescue How can I adopt BEAN? At original attempt she didnt do well with deep anesthesia so we are rescheduling her at our private vet. Microchipped, yes. Playful, yes. Story
About Molly Mae Molly Mae is a 6-year-old dachshund with a story that will melt your heart. After suffering a spinal injury caused by Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), she was left partially paralyzed with 40% spinal compression and spent two long years confined to a laundry room before finally being surrendered. From the moment she arrived at Kentucky Dachshund Rescue, Molly began her incredible road to recovery. With the help of her foster family, she’s undergone weekly hydrotherapy, laser therapy, and gentle range-of-motion exercises — and her progress has been amazing. This determined little girl can now walk short distances on her own, taking well-earned breaks between steps. Every wobbly stride is a victory. ? Medical & Care Information • IVDD survivor: 40% spinal compression and muscle atrophy, but gaining strength daily • Mobility: Walks short distances on her own; uses a drag bag or wheelchair as needed • Bladder: Regaining partial control; foster mom expresses her bladder 4× daily to prevent infection • Bowel: No control currently, but therapy may improve this over time • Potty training: Improving! Molly tries to go outside and thrives on routine • Vaccines: Fully up to date • Spayed: Show more How To Adopt MOLLY MAE was listed as Adoptable by Kentucky Dachshund Rescue How can I adopt MOLLY MAE?
