Story
TEDDY is a purebred dachshund registered with CKC. He has lived his life as a breeder dog where he was not allowed the usual occurrences of being a “ special someone” in his own private home. Things are about to change for Teddy and for the better in every instance. When he is neutered male dominance will subside. Having only known his main importance was being the breeder for many years, he will begin to adjust to relaxing days with his family, naps on winter days and dreams of chasing birds come spring...Teddy is also shy at heart . If he is startled occasionally he would nip ...His new family will always understand they should approach and speak to him to avoid surprising him. Teddy would love to be chosen for himself and not have to compete with other dogs for attention...Actually, he’s had enough of all the dogs he’s had to contend with in his life, and it's no wonder he’s ready to retire..Dachshunds at his age, which is human age 48, are middle-aged. He knows what he wants and when he wants it, like all men. Teddy is pad-trained , which is a great asset with cold weather coming on. He has been allowed freedom to run free in the house when the family is home, but left in one gated room when the family is Show more How To Adopt TEDDY PIEBAL... was listed as Adoptable by Kentucky Dachshund Rescue How can I adopt TEDDY PIEBAL...? Story
Bandit is a mini tricolor smooth coat dachshund with ticking. He came to the rescue with five other mini dachshunds after his elderly owner died. He is a really sweet boy but tends to be a little skittish. He needs a person with patience and time to gain his trust and would do well with another dog to follow. Our rescue organization adopts within the following states: Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. A fully fenced yard is required to be considered for adoption (no underground fencing). Story
About Molly Mae Molly Mae is a 6-year-old dachshund with a story that will melt your heart. After suffering a spinal injury caused by Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), she was left partially paralyzed with 40% spinal compression and spent two long years confined to a laundry room before finally being surrendered. From the moment she arrived at Kentucky Dachshund Rescue, Molly began her incredible road to recovery. With the help of her foster family, she’s undergone weekly hydrotherapy, laser therapy, and gentle range-of-motion exercises — and her progress has been amazing. This determined little girl can now walk short distances on her own, taking well-earned breaks between steps. Every wobbly stride is a victory. ? Medical & Care Information • IVDD survivor: 40% spinal compression and muscle atrophy, but gaining strength daily • Mobility: Walks short distances on her own; uses a drag bag or wheelchair as needed • Bladder: Regaining partial control; foster mom expresses her bladder 4× daily to prevent infection • Bowel: No control currently, but therapy may improve this over time • Potty training: Improving! Molly tries to go outside and thrives on routine • Vaccines: Fully up to date • Spayed: Show more How To Adopt MOLLY MAE was listed as Adoptable by Kentucky Dachshund Rescue How can I adopt MOLLY MAE?
