Story
Teddy James is small but mighty! He has really been through a lot but has come out on top Teddy has just completed heartworm treatment and will need follow up testing to be sure it worked. He is still on cage rest for at least another few weeks. He is doing very well in his crate and loves to bury himself under his blankets. teddy is small but has a mighty personality! He loves his people and prefers to snuggle under a blanket with you. He loves meal time and treats and will do a little dance of excitement at each meal he loves to lay in the sun and watch you do all the hard work outside. He is good with other dogs and kids of all ages but he does like to greet them on his own terms. He will get overwhelmed if he is surrounded too quickly.   he is mostly potty trained but does have some stubborn dachshund tendencies when it comes to potty-ing inside. He has shown improvement in this area with his foster home.   Teddy is estimated to be around 5-7 years old and would love a happy life. He had a medical journey that he is closing to the finish line and does have two holes in his soft pallet that is thought to be a birth defect. He will cough occasionally with drinking or eating too quickly but otherwise, this does not effect him at all. he is a lively, loving, spirited little guy that is ready for the better life in a forever home. ##2620401##

STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! You might recognize me from the news because I was one of 64 animals to come from ONE hoarding house! We have now officially be signed off so I am available for adoption and I am looking for my forever home! I am already up to date on all my vaccines, mircochipped, on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and already spayed. Some of our siblings have been DNA tested and we are very mixed breed dashund/chi mixes. I am 10lbs and probably wont get much bigger.   I love everyone I meet including dogs, cats and kids. Please fill our an app asap to be considered asap. My adoption fee is $400 and I come with some food and other goodies and my vetting up to date! All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! Meet Glitter Intelligent, affectionate, adorable, and eager to please! I can be a little sensitive to touch from people I don't know very well. I like to take things slow and really get to know you before we get touchy-feely. When we are better friends, I love to snuggle up for some belly rubs and cuddles! I am looking for someone that has experience with food and resource guarding. Some of the MAS staff and volunteers have been helping me practice self control with positive reinforcement training. I am very motivated by food, so training is like a fun game for me! I need consistent structure to help me control myself. I have been making leaps and bounds of progress with my training and protocols and I am eager to please, I know several commands and release cues such as "come", "down", "bed", "sit", "look", "lets go", "yes", and "ok". Glitter is such a joy to get to know. She has such a sweet and silly personality, it's nearly impossible to not love her, she is like a little molasses cookie! Growing a bond with any dog, is special; but especially a dog you know has been through a lot. There is such a rewarding feeling, knowing for this dog, you made a difference. Glitter deserves a safe loving home to get a second chance to experience what a family is. Please note that Glitter has a special meet-and-greet protocol that requires several visits, so she and her potential adopters can get to know each other before Glitter goes home.
