Story
Sunshine is a 2-year-old low-rider (we’re guessing dachshund/retriever mix!) who didn’t have the easiest start to life, but you’d never know it. She’s full of love and gives it freely to everyone she meets. She came to us pretty underweight (and with puppies), so she’s very food motivated (a slow feeder is a must), but who could blame her? She’s steadily gaining weight and will likely be around 30 lbs once she’s healthy. Sunshine, aka Sunny, Little Miss, or Sunny Bunny, is all about love. She’d do best in a home with a female presence, and she tends to gravitate toward women but warms up to men quickly. She does great with other dogs, but would also be perfectly happy as the only apple of your eye. Sunny is house-trained on a consistent schedule and would thrive in a home that balances activity with plenty of snuggles. She’s mastered the puppy dog eyes, so good luck saying no, but this lovebug deserves to be a little spoiled. She’s a smart girl and would benefit from some continued training, especially on walks and taking treats gently. Her adoption fee is $250.  ##2698461##

Story
Meet this special pup, Renata 🐾💛 Renata came from a hoarding situation and is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Because of her past, she can be quite anxious and easily overwhelmed by new sights, sounds, and sudden movements. She’s a sensitive girl who needs time, patience, and understanding as she learns to feel secure. Renata would do best in a calm, adult-only home with another confident dog to help guide her and show her the ropes. Having a canine companion gives her comfort and helps her build confidence in unfamiliar situations. She’ll need continued support with all the basics—potty training, leash skills, household manners—but her biggest focus will be on building trust and confidence. Her ideal adopter will allow her to move at her own pace, giving her the space she needs to come out of her shell without pressure. While Renata may never be a bold, “go everywhere” kind of dog, she has so much love to give. With time, consistency, and gentle encouragement, she will form a deep, meaningful bond with her person. If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and the patience to let Renata blossom in her own time, you’ll gain a deeply loyal and special companion 💛 - Around 3 years old - Currently under 40lbs - Good with cats and dogs - Prefers no kids as loud noises and fast movement startle her - Adoption fee: $175 To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Include information about your family and pets, what you are looking for in a canine companion, how you plan to exercise and train this dog, and why this specific dog seems like a good fit for your family. Story
Teddy James is small but mighty! He has really been through a lot but has come out on top Teddy has just completed heartworm treatment and will need follow up testing to be sure it worked. He is still on cage rest for at least another few weeks. He is doing very well in his crate and loves to bury himself under his blankets. teddy is small but has a mighty personality! He loves his people and prefers to snuggle under a blanket with you. He loves meal time and treats and will do a little dance of excitement at each meal he loves to lay in the sun and watch you do all the hard work outside. He is good with other dogs and kids of all ages but he does like to greet them on his own terms. He will get overwhelmed if he is surrounded too quickly.   he is mostly potty trained but does have some stubborn dachshund tendencies when it comes to potty-ing inside. He has shown improvement in this area with his foster home.   Teddy is estimated to be around 5-7 years old and would love a happy life. He had a medical journey that he is closing to the finish line and does have two holes in his soft pallet that is thought to be a birth defect. He will cough occasionally with drinking or eating too quickly but otherwise, this does not effect him at all. he is a lively, loving, spirited little guy that is ready for the better life in a forever home. ##2620401##
