Story
Precious is the sweetest 17 lb mix. The breed is based off appearances only & they are best guess.  She is great with other dogs & all people, including kids.  She loves playing outdoors, but equally loves snuggling.  She sleeps through the entire night quietly in her crate, but would also LOVE to sleep in bed with you.  She has excellent recall. She'd make an excellent lap dog, but also has energy to play.  ##2732086##

Story
🐾Ruby is a sweet dog who struggles with a fear of people, stemming from a difficult past. 🐾She needs time to feel at ease around new faces, often opting to hide when she feels scared. Despite her fears, Ruby longs for love and companionship, but patience is key. She is quite the runner 🏃‍♀️‍➡️ and can dart away quickly if given the chance, so a secure, fenced yard is essential for her safety. Ruby is approximately 5 years old Dachshund mix. 20 lbs., up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and while she is housebroken and crate trained, she doesn't necessarily require a crate. Ruby is looking for a caring individual who understands her needs and is willing to invest the time it takes for her to feel comfortable. Please check out our adoption process & on-line application here: https://www.newhopepetrescue.com/Adoption Fee for dogs cover the following vetting:1. Story
Meet Glitter Intelligent, affectionate, adorable, and eager to please! I can be a little sensitive to touch from people I don't know very well. I like to take things slow and really get to know you before we get touchy-feely. When we are better friends, I love to snuggle up for some belly rubs and cuddles! I am looking for someone that has experience with food and resource guarding. Some of the MAS staff and volunteers have been helping me practice self control with positive reinforcement training. I am very motivated by food, so training is like a fun game for me! I need consistent structure to help me control myself. I have been making leaps and bounds of progress with my training and protocols and I am eager to please, I know several commands and release cues such as "come", "down", "bed", "sit", "look", "lets go", "yes", and "ok". Glitter is such a joy to get to know. She has such a sweet and silly personality, it's nearly impossible to not love her, she is like a little molasses cookie! Growing a bond with any dog, is special; but especially a dog you know has been through a lot. There is such a rewarding feeling, knowing for this dog, you made a difference. Glitter deserves a safe loving home to get a second chance to experience what a family is. Please note that Glitter has a special meet-and-greet protocol that requires several visits, so she and her potential adopters can get to know each other before Glitter goes home. If you would like to apply to adopt Glitter, please submit an adoption application at www.mackenzies.info DOB: 12/14/2014 Meet-Your-Match Canine-ality color is: Orange Busy Bee! For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Meet Apple Jacks!  This handsome man has a pretty harrowing background and because of that he believes people are pretty scary. Apple Jacks, or just Jacks for short, will need a special home. Lets get the requirements out of the way before we talk about how great this fella is!   1. His future forever home should have at least one other playful dog. Dogs give Jacks a lot of cofidence and are critical to his happiness.  2. A securely fenced in yard - because he was severly undersocialied, Jacks has no experience on leash and reacts poorly at this stage in his training. He gets very scared, flails, rolls, and tries to bite the leash off of him. While this behavior will improve with time, it's critical for his well being that he have a safe space that he can explore and use the bathroom while he's learning that the leash isn't scary.  3. A home with no young children - Jacks is easily startled and would not feel safe in a home that was excessively noisy or had little hands still learning to understand doggie boundaries. While he has never displayed any reactivity, he is jumpy and will attempt to flee (sometimes knocking down anything in his path) if he gets too startled.  4. Some fur pawrents to give him a whole ton of love and patience. Jacks is a beautiful dog, but he isn't a dog that is going to settle into your home the first day, the first week, or even the first month. His future home will need to be prepared to give him several months to fully decompress, learn routines, and feel safe receiving everyone's love.  Now that we've got the hard stuff out of the way, let me tell you all the wonderful things about Jacks! In time we have had the privlege of fostering him he has very quickly learned several important skills. Firstly, he leared where his crate is, that it's where hot dogs happen, dinner happens, bed time happens, and that he can use it as his safe space. He will now run right to his crate when you tell him crate. He has also picked up potty training rapidly and very rarely has an accident. He very much looks to the other dogs in his foster homes for social cues and learns rapidly from them.  In his current foster home there are two adults (1 M, 1 F) and 5 other dogs. He has warmed up more rapidly to the male in the home and within the very first day here his foster dad was able to pet him. Foster mom quickly followed and now he will comfortably approach for pets or ear scratches. He hasn't progressed to cuddling yet, but we think he's close! He does rest comfortable in the same room with both adult humans with no obvious discomfort and will sit comfortably between the humans while they enjoy evening TV.  Jacks is CRAZY for hot dogs. His foster family will cut hot dogs into small pieces and use them for high value training and Jacks thinks this might be the best thing he's ever experieced - the only thing better is rotiserre chicken! He takes treats patiently in the dog pack, doesn't push or shove, and takes them directly from human hands without incident.  If you think you might be the right person to give Jacks a new beginning, please visit our website for an adoption application: www.happyfeetpetrescue.com.  ##2706977##
