Story
Hi, my name is Ember or Emee for short! I'm a chocolate-faced, brown-eyed sweetheart and am now the biggest cuddle bug. I just love curling up with the people who saved me and am in for endless snuggles. I love playing with other dogs and soaking up every bit of love & fun I missed out on. I don't even mind a crate, as it's my safe place away from the dangers of the street. I sleep happily either snuggled in bed with my foster or curled up on a dog bed nearby. I have been given one important job around the house… making sure the vacuum doesn’t attack the family. 😂 I take my security detail very seriously and will proudly supervise every inch of your vacuuming. My foster says I deserve a home with another young, playful dog around my size and a family who will spend the rest of my life showing me that I'll never be hungry, frightened, or alone again. I'm done surviving and now it's my turn to simply be loved.
My story... I was rescued from Culvert in Bogalusa with my 6 babies, surviving as a stray, malnourished and doing everything I could to keep my litter of puppies alive, protecting them from the road and predators. The night I arrived, I was terrified. Untouchable. And then something incredible happened...Within just two days, I realized these people really wanted to help us and we were finally safe. It's been all uphill since then!

If you want to meet a pup in person, Once Upon a Tail Rescue does adoption events at PetSmart in Covington, LA on most Saturdays with 15-20 of our adoptable dogs and puppies there.
Don't forget to complete your application ahead of time, so you don't miss out on the pup you've connected with. If pre-approved, you have first priority and can usually take home your new best friend the same day!
*Please note that there is no obligation to adopt by completing an application.*
**All dogs are required to have complete vet services, including shots, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip, which are included in the Adoption Fee. Some dogs may still require completion of these services due to current age, size, breed and/or health. All vet services must be done at the vet clinic used by Once Upon a Tail Rescue in Mandeville, LA.
