Story
UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Danny! This adorable speckled boy is from a litter that a very pregnant pup was picked up by Good Samaritans and she blessed them with 6 beautiful babies days later! Danny is one of the 2 still looking for his forever home. Mom is a super cute Standard dachshund mix that weigh 25 lbs. Dad is unknown and we believe their were definitely multiple dads in this litter as every puppy looks and is built different. Danny is the largest of the litter and over double his siblings size at around 20ish at 5-6 months.Based off of his beautiful markings and size we do believe he likely has cattle dog in him and will be a medium sized adult around 30-40 lbs  likely. Danny is super sweet and playful. Perfect for kids and other animals. Danny is utd, dewormed and neutered. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. UPDATE!! Meet Elvis! This sweet boy came to us a few days back  because sadly his owner has a terminal illness and could no longer care for him. Elvis settled right into his foster home and never missed a beat. This little guy has an amazing personality and is sweet as can be. We are told he is a Dachshund mix. He is said to be 5-6 years old and around 10.1 lbs. He is doing great in his foster. He loves his foster mom already and getting along great with the other pups. Elvis is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! Story
NEWBIE ALERT! This sweet girl is Daisey. She was saved by a volunteer after she was abandoned. Daisey appears to be a Chiweenie mix of some sort. She’s around 9 months old and 8 lbs. We don’t expect her to get much bigger if at all. She’s a playful and sweet girl. She loves all animals and people. She’s doing well in the house and crate. She will complete her vetting 9/27/23 and will then be adoption ready. Get your pups in on this cutie!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! Story
Seraphina is a charming Bassett hound/border collie mix who was born approximately two years ago. With her big floppy ears and soulful eyes, she has quickly become a beloved member of the shelter. Her adventurous spirit and sweet demeanor have won the hearts of everyone she meets. From an early age, Seraphina has showed a love of exploration. She loves to play in the swimming pools and chase butterflies around the yard, her tail wagging in delight. She can be described as an active pup who needs plenty of exercise and outdoor time.Despite her boundless energy, Seraphina is also a very affectionate dog. She loves nothing more than curling up next to her family members for a nap or snuggling with them on the couch. She is especially fond of older children because loud noises startle her. She enjoys playing gentle games or just being near them for a good cuddle. As Seraphina has grown, she has developed a few quirky habits that make her even more endearing. For example, she has a habit of tilting her head to one side when she's listening to someone speak, as if she's trying to understand every word. She also likes to carry her favorite toys around with her everywhere she goes, even if they're too big for her to play with properly.Overall, Seraphina is a joyful, loving dog who brings happiness and laughter to everyone she meets. Her family is grateful to have her in their lives and looks forward to many more years of adventures and snuggles with their beloved pup.
