Story
We will be accepting applications for Fritter, Brioche, Biscoff and Toast until the end of the day on Tuesday, March 10, at 5:00 pm.Given the abundance of applications we’ve received, we will be processing applications with the following criteria in mind:- Familiarity with caring for the Dachshund breed- Fenced yard for safe outdoor time- Ability to provide ongoing veterinary care- Current pets in the home must be vaccinated- A household that can protect them from back injuries – this means: No stairs; no jumping on/off beds, couches, or high furniture and Introducing and training them to use a ramp. It’s important to use a ramp as Dachshunds have fragile, long backs. Climbing on stairs or jump puts them at risk of injury.- Extra attention, supervision, and safety – these little ones are tiny and vulnerable!A few more things to keep in mind: we will not be taking walk-ins to see the puppies without an approved application. This is so our staff can work with our other shelter animals and give them the attention they need. Upon approval of an application, you will be invited to come meet the puppy you applied for. Our policy requires “meet and greets” for all dogs in the home; we will schedule this with you once we’ve approved your application. There are many great adopters in the valley, so this decision may be difficult. If there are more perfect candidates than puppies available, we will do a drawing for the puppies. The Dachshund puppies’ adoption fees will be $200.00 each.
We'll also keep you updated on Biscoff's adoption status with email updates.
