Now, this graceful girl is ready to find a loving, permanent home. At 19 pounds, Jenn is the "big sister" of the pair—confident, elegant, and full of charming personality. Her sleek black coat shines beautifully, and her gentle, soulful eyes are sure to melt your heart. Story
If you love dogs with a big heart, a total snuggle bug, one who longs to be your lap dog and best friend, but has a small frame and little legs to match? Well look no further because Meghan Peanut Markel was made for you! Not only is she incredibly sweet but she is absolutely adorable!! So get ready for your phone to be overrun with Meghan content because that’s exactly what is going to happen the second you bring her home. Watch her video and fall in love with her: https://youtu.be/cQ-ztshK1RE?si=DDNUiPAVLgaCzqzE Meghan Markel is a Dachshund mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs about 20lbs. She’s a little girl and the perfect size for lap snuggles, which are a favorite of hers! She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Meghan is a bit shy at first when meeting new people, in new environments and may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she’s all about affection and spoiling you with her gentle love. She truly shines as a lap dog and is happiest curled up close to her person, soaking in love and giving it right back. Her energy level is beautifully balanced, not too busy and not too sleepy. Just the right amount of energy, the kind of pup who fits perfectly into your routine. She enjoys getting out for walks (and walks nicely on a leash!) but is just as content relaxing at home snuggled up next you on the couch binge watching your favorite show or movie. She’s dog-friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced her to. She has met dogs her size and smaller and has also been around dogs twice her size! No matter the size, Meghan has shown to be a polite gentle lady when she meets a dog on leash and shows that same level of gentleness when meeting dogs off leash. She isn’t a super playful girl with other dogs; she prefers calm companionship over rough-and-tumble play. Meghan has the kind of easygoing personality that allows her to thrive in many living situations. She would do very well in an apartment or condo setting, especially with someone who enjoys daily walks and a relaxed routine. Her well-balanced energy level and polite leash manners make her a great neighbor-friendly companion. She would also be perfectly happy in a suburban home with a backyard, where she could enjoy sniffing around, sunbathing, and lounging after her walks. While she’d appreciate outdoor access, she doesn’t rely on a yard to be fulfilled; her happiness comes from companionship, not square footage. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who bonds deeply, loves cuddles, and brings a steady, comforting presence into your life, Meghan may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. We are willing to test Meghan Markel with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
**Now fostered in Seattle, WA** Tuck – 9 Years Young | Dachshund Mix | Little Legs, Big Heart Tuck may be estimated at 9 years old, but don’t let the touch of gray and his love of snuggles fool you — this boy still has plenty of pep in his step! Tuck is happiest wherever you are. If that’s a cozy night at home, he’s curled up beside you. If it’s a Super Bowl party? He recently attended his very first one and proudly celebrated a Seahawks win. He’s equal parts cuddle bug and social companion. He’s currently fostered with other dogs and cats and does wonderfully with both. In fact, Tuck would truly love another dog in his forever home to be his buddy. He enjoys playing fetch, zooming around with his foster dog siblings, and taking his daily mile-long walk. That’s right — short legs and all! He loves to stop and sniff, but once he sees the other pups trotting ahead, he buckles down and keeps pace. His foster mom cannot say enough good things about him. Friends and family adore him for his polite, well-mannered personality. He is fully potty trained and crate trained… though if given the choice, he would much rather sleep snuggled up with his person. When Tuck first arrived in the Pacific Northwest, he experienced a little separation anxiety. With time, patience, and reassurance, he has settled in beautifully. While he’ll always prefer to be by your side, he now does just fine when left home alone. Tuck will need a single-family home (no apartments or townhomes). He takes his neighborhood watch duties seriously and can get excited about outside noises. He especially feels it’s important to alert everyone when his foster mom pulls into the driveway — very thoughtful of him, really. Beyond his playful and loyal nature, Tuck is also a sensitive, intuitive soul. After his foster family recently lost one of their cats, Tuck barely left his foster mom’s side. He knew she needed comfort, and he was right there for her. Tuck would be a wonderful match for: A first-time dog owner A semi-active couple or individual A family with older, respectful kids who match his chill vibe A home with another friendly dog If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will go on walks, play a little fetch, attend your gatherings, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day — Tuck is your guy. He loves hopping onto the couch, rolling over for belly rubs, and staying close to his people. In his foster home, Floyd lives with both small and large dogs and gets along beautifully with everyone—he’s even polite enough to share food with his canine friends. Floyd is potty trained, crate trained, and ready to fit perfectly into a new home. Whether you’re a family looking for a friendly companion or a single person wanting a devoted best friend, Floyd is the kind of dog who will bring joy, affection, and loyalty every day. Story
Monty is literally a little old man. He isn’t actually “old” but he sure is living life on little legs. He definitely has a salt-and-pepper face and “retired gentleman” energy. His retirement dream is simple- a peaceful home, coziness, and a person who feels whole-heartedly that quality time is the best time, because it absolutely does! If Monty had a motto is would be “slow is the new fast.” Want to see his low-key vibes and tiny-leg strut in action? Head to YouTube for “Monty | Silver-Fox Snuggle Scout” https://youtu.be/3t1VGERHJ-c Monty is an older small-dog type, honestly his body gives big dog just shrunk down in a comically cute way. If you are going to corner us for a “breed” we might go with little lab/little pittie. Very official. He is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 36 lbs (best guess, rescue rules apply). And don’t let the age or the little legs fool you- he gets around just fine, he just prefers life at his own pace, nice and slow. On walks, he does occasionally decide to insist on a break. Its easy enough to get him moving but it is also just as easy to take his lead and have a little break. He is trying to remind you that neither of you are training for a marathon. At heart, Monty is a sweet companion. He has showed us an especially side with little ones. He goes from the sweet snuggly moments into clearing space for a spontaneous cartwheel or Barbie Jeep take-off. He is even okay with a dress-up moment. We wouldn’t say he is down to be a “toy” dog, afterall our seniors deserve a little peace and quiet to rest, but he will be like the fun grandpa who drops into the party for a bit. We would recommend kids 5+ who can follow his lead and give him the gentle, easygoing treatment he’s earned along with understanding he needs sleep to recharge for the fun. For his ideal home, just between us, Monty would love to be in an only dog home. He has heard about how peaceful and full of love only-dog life is and since then he hasnt stopped dreaming. He has shown he can warm up and even gets moments of bouncy and playful energy but it is short short lived and moves right into “I’ll be over here smelling.” The only absolute is no cats. And again because he has earned it, we respect our elders. Monty’s hits: * Senior, calm, “let’s just be together” companion energy * Enjoys short strolls and yard sniffaris, not long hikes * Great, fun-grandpa energy with respectful kids (recommended 5+) * Would do great in an apartment or cozy home with understanding that he is not built for speed *No cats *Prefer solo-dog home If you’ve got a quiet home, a steady routine, and a soft spot for a sweet little gentleman who just wants to be near his person, Monty is ready to clock in for his retirement job: professional chill-advisor and easy-company. Story
Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
