Story
Meet Franz Franz is a 4–5-year-old, 22-pound dachshund mix with a joyful spirit and a wonderfully forgiving heart. He came from a heartbreaking hoarding case involving 36 dogs living in terrible conditions, but somehow Franz seems to have chosen happiness anyway. He is black and white and full of personality, and while he has a small bend in his legs from a birth defect, it does not slow him down at all. Franz loves to run, explore, sniff, and play in the yard. He does great with all dogs, from big 66-pound dogs to tiny 16-week-old puppies. He has a little more energy than some of the others from the case, but if you know dachshunds, it makes perfect sense. After he has had his fun, Franz is happiest cuddled in blankets on the couch or, even better, curled up in your lap. He is clean and easy in a crate, both at night and during the day when needed. Franz loves a good chew bone. He does well eating in a group and has done well on Purina dog food. He loves kids and teens. Franz does well with both men and women and does not have a preference. Franz has had a brief introduction to cats and showed no aggression. He got very low to the ground like he was trying to disappear into the floor, but he was gentle and simply unsure. Franz has learned a lot about leash walking and now does very well on a leash. He especially enjoys that leash walks mean extra sniffing in new places, which is one of his favorite things. He also does well with a low fence. What makes Franz so special is that, for all he has been through, he seems to have let the past go and is simply excited to finally be a dog. He is one of the most forgiving dogs you could ever meet and, like the rest of the dogs from this case, all he really wants now is comfort, love, and a family to call his own. Franz is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and on preventions. Franz is ready for a fresh start. If you are looking for a playful, affectionate little dog who loves sniffing adventures, soft blankets, and lap time, Franz may be your perfect match.  His $325 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2694571##

Story
DANNY From surviving an RV hoarding case with no running water, no electricity, and living in absolute filth… to becoming the happiest little chunky short-legged heartthrob you’ve ever seen. Danny was only 7 weeks old when we pulled him from the horrible hoarding situation in Merryville. The conditions these dogs survived were heartbreaking — packed into a camper covered in feces, neglected, starving, and forgotten. And somehow… despite all of that… Danny is STILL one of the sweetest, happiest little puppies you could ever hope to meet. Today, this precious boy is THRIVING.When we first got him, he weighed only 2.8 pounds. Now he’s around 15 pounds and has transformed into the funniest little long-bodied chunk with dangling legs that remind me of a bullfrog when I hold him. His little sparkles and markings make me wonder if there’s some Bluetick Hound mixed in there somewhere, maybe even a little Whippet or Dachshund… but whatever he is, he is 100% adorable. Danny is: Neutered Up-to-date on vaccines and preventions Full of personality Sweet beyond words Ready for a forever family And just like the other dogs from this hoarding case… he has absolutely NO meanness in him. None. These dogs went through unimaginable neglect and still love humans with their whole hearts. That says everything about who they are. Danny deserves a home where he will never again know hunger, fear, filth, or neglect. A home where he’ll be spoiled rotten, covered in blankets, kissed nonstop, and reminded every single day that he matters.  Danny will require continues puppy training, continued potty training and socialization.   Because this little boy survived hell… and still chose love. .  Please fill out an adoption application of your would like to have him join your family.  His $550 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2687184##

Story
Meet Rolf Rolf is a 6–7-year-old, 26-pound chocolate dachshund mix with the shiniest red-brown coat, a very regal look, and the gentlest soul. He came from a heartbreaking hoarding case involving 36 dogs living in horrible conditions, but even after all he has been through, Rolf remains incredibly sweet, soft, and full of love. Rolf is the kind of dog who wants to trust so badly, and you can see that in everything he does. He may not always climb directly into your lap on his own, but he is more than happy to snuggle beside you in a dog bed or pile of blankets and soak up affection. When he wants attention, he will quietly come over and rest his head on your lap in the sweetest way. Rolf loves playing with the other dogs in the yard, rolling around with his brothers, and then settling down with a good chew bone. He is wonderful with all dogs, from 66-pound pit bulls to tiny 16-week-old puppies. Rolf loves to play ball and has that classic dachshund playfulness that makes him so fun to watch. He is a pretty confident little dude now, and it has been wonderful to watch him come into himself. Rolf is clean in his crate and does well both at night and during the day when needed. He is also doing well going outside to potty. He eats well in a group, has been gaining weight on Purina dog food, and is doing great in foster care. He is good with kids and teens. Rolf is good with both men and women. After working with him, Rolf now does well on a leash. He also does well with a low fence. Rolf had a brief meeting with cats and did well. He was curious and gently tried to play, but when the cats made it clear they were not interested, he simply found a pile of blankets and laid down. What makes Rolf so special is how sweet and hopeful he still is. He does not demand attention — he just quietly asks for love and safety in the gentlest ways. Rolf is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and on preventions. Rolf is ready for a home where he can keep building trust and finally be loved the way he deserves. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle little dog with a soft heart, a playful spirit, and a regal little presence, Rolf may be your perfect match.   Please fill out an adoption application to have him join your family.  His $250 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2694575##

Story
Meet Rupert Rupert is a 2-year-old, 25-pound dachshund mix with the most beautiful brindle-and-white coat — almost tiger-striped with a soft cookies-and-cream look. He came from a heartbreaking hoarding case involving 36 dogs living in horrible conditions and was one of the last two dogs pulled from that situation. After being removed from the RV the dogs were living in, Rupert spent a little extra time in the shelter before finally making it to safety. For such a young dog who has already been through so much, Rupert has held onto his sweet, outgoing spirit in a really special way. He may not look the most like a classic dachshund, but he absolutely has that funny, bouncy, easygoing dachshund personality. Rupert is wonderful with all dogs, from a 66-pound pit bull to tiny 16-week-old puppies. He loves playing ball and also enjoys playing with the other dogs. After playtime, he is just as happy curling up in a lap or on a comfy blanket on the couch. Rupert is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate — a true little lap goblin. He does well eating in a group and has done well on Purina dog food. He is great with kids and teens. Rupert is good with both men and women. He is clean in his crate and does well both at night and during the day when needed. After working with him, Rupert now does well on a leash. Rupert has had a brief introduction to cats. He sniffed them curiously, then quickly lost interest when they made it clear they were not interested in visiting. Rupert is a social, loving little dog who is learning that life can be safe, soft, and full of good things. Rupert is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on prevention. Rupert is ready to leave his past behind and become someone’s beloved little sidekick. If you are looking for a playful, affectionate dog with a resilient heart and lots of personality, Rupert may be your perfect match.  Please fill out an adoption application.  His $450 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2694611##

Story
Meet Otto Otto is a 4–5-year-old, 23-pound blue and white dachshund mix with the most beautiful eyes and the sweetest, softest heart. He came from a heartbreaking hoarding case involving 36 dogs living in horrible conditions, and of all the dogs from the case, Otto was one of the most scared when he first arrived. Since coming into foster care, Otto has made the best progress and continues to show just how much he wants to love, trust, and be part of a family. Otto’s skin issues have been addressed, and his coat has come in beautifully into a stunning silver color. Otto has the kind of eyes that look at you like he is quietly asking, “please just love me.” He gives the softest kisses and is a total sweetheart. Otto absolutely loves to cuddle in a lap, and with patience and love, he is going to be a total lap junkie. In the yard, Otto plays with the other dogs like a happy, bouncy dachshund and seems so much more carefree. He is wonderful with all dogs, from 66-pound pit bulls to tiny 16-week-old puppies. Otto loves a good chew bone. He does well eating in a group and has done well on Purina dog food. Otto has no problems with men or women. He is smart, eager to learn, and continues to grow in confidence every day. Otto is clean in his crate and does well both at night and during the day when needed. After working with him, Otto now does well on a leash. He also does well with a low fence. Otto has had a brief encounter with a cat, and it went very well. He sniffed curiously, and when the cat hissed at him, he simply backed up like, “well that’s not friendly,” and went to lay down. What makes Otto so special is how far he has come. Beneath the fear was always a deeply loving, gentle little dog who just needed safety, patience, and kindness to shine. Otto is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and on preventions. Otto’s glow-up is already happening, and his best days are still ahead of him.If you are looking for a sweet, affectionate little dog with a gentle heart, a smart mind, and so much love to give, Otto may be your perfect match.  Please fill out an adoption fee if you would like him to join your family.  His $325 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2694580##
