Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Ezekiel is a charming dachshund mix who has truly mastered the art of the puppy-dog eyes—and he knows exactly when to use them. He is the ultimate cuddle bug: incredibly sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he’s as close to his people as possible. Ezekiel will gladly fall asleep in your lap, snuggle under the blankets, and make himself right at home by your side. He’s not shy about asking for extra love either. When the belly rubs stop too soon, Ezekiel will gently use his snoot to wiggle his way back under your arm, making it very clear that cuddle time isn’t over yet. He’s a clingy love bug in the best way possible and thrives on human connection. Ezekiel seems to be house trained and does a great job communicating when he needs to go outside, letting out a few adorable barks and heading toward the door. He also does well on a leash and harness, making walks an easy and enjoyable part of the day. While he gets along well with other dogs and seems comfortable around them, Ezekiel would likely be happiest in a slightly more relaxed household where he can enjoy a calmer pace and plenty of snuggle time. With his gentle nature, loving heart, and soulful gaze, Ezekiel will make an amazing, devoted companion.

Story
***AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY*** Meet Ellen, the sweet little Dachshund–Chihuahua mix who is basically a professional cuddler in a tiny body. She wants nothing more than to be with her people as much as possible, whether that means snuggled up on the couch, curled in your arms, or burrowed all the way under the covers (her favorite spot!). Ellen seems to be fully potty trained to go outside, but is also great about using a puppy pad if one is available. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently is fostered happily with three dogs of various sizes. She also does well with kids — she was a little shy at first with children ages 8 and 10, but now she happily cuddles up with them on the couch. She may be a little more unsure of smaller kids with more sudden movements. Ellen loves being held, gives the coziest cuddles, and her absolute cutest trait is her adorable butt wiggle that happens every time she wags her tail — it’s impossible not to smile when you see it. This little love bug would thrive in a home where someone is around a lot and has plenty of snuggles, head scratches, and lap time to give. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be your shadow, she might just be your perfect match.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Frederick is our sweet little old man. He was found as a stray and landed in a shelter. We rescued him soon after. He was a shelter favorite and needed a dental asap. He also had some skin issues but now his skin has cleared up and he is flea free. He immediately blended in with his foster family of dogs and new humans. He loves to play with his ball and sunbathe on the deck. He is definitely a lap dog but he does love his special chair. Good with all dogs and cats, neutered and heartworm negative. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Boo Boo requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. PLEASE submit an application now at:   The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC          Miss Boo Boo is a very friendly and gets along fine with other dogs.  She is fostered with a pack of five other dogs.  While she does not actively interact with them, she acknowledges their presence and will push them aside so that she can receive pats from her humans. She loves her humans!!     She would do fine as an only dog or one of many. Her foster household does not have cats so we are not sure how she will get along with cats.  Her energy is low, she is such a couch potato!  She will lay with her head next to you and her eyes will look longing into yours as you pat her and show her affection.  The youngest child she has been around is 10 years old, but her temperament leads me to believe that she would do fine with children over 5 who are dog savvy.  .  Boo Boo is very food motivated but does not guard the resource. She does not need to be crated and does fine having free roaming privileges in her foster home. She is used to a fenced yard and would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard.   Boo Boo is an adorable grand lady that is looking for her forever home and would welcome the love and attention she so richly deserves.  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Sadly, Boo Boo's owner passed away and she ended up in a rural shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption stepped in knowing that senior dogs are rarely adopted from shelters and she was at risk.  We are now trying to find a good home for her.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
