Story
PERSONALITY & BEHAVIORS This little guy belies his age and acts more like a 10-year old! A gentle and compliant companion, Dewey Wilkerson is so sweet! He will gladly and easily get on your bed or couch to cuddle with you. He is house-trained, doesn't need to be crated, and eats well. A lover of the outdoors, Dewey very much enjoys exploring, and walks nicely on leash, wearing a harness of course, and even will frequently break into a trot! Despite his limited vision, he can distinguish objects, and can see you as you walk next to him. He relies on his sense of smell, as his hearing is slightly diminished as well. Dewey will make a wonderful pet for someone looking for a small dog who doesn't need a great deal of exercise, but will require you to get outside at least twice a day for a short walk, along with bathroom breaks. Vocal when he would like attention, he doesn't bark, but more whines. He loves to be scratched, especially along his spine and tail. When he is nervous or afraid, he shivers (also perhaps because he is a little bit colder than other dogs with his temporary hair loss). He has a new small wool blanket and a little lamb lovie that he likes to sleep with. Dewey can't wait to find his loving forever home where he can live out his remaining years in comfort and joy! PHYSICAL Dewey is gray and brown with smatterings of white on his face, legs, and elsewhere. HEALTH Dewey Wilkerson is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. Like many dogs who are up in years, Dewy has some health issues. He has Nuclear Sclerosis (a condition found in older dogs that affects depth perception); diminished hearing; a heart murmur (Grade 2-3); and some muscle atrophy and arthritis. Before entering IAR, he clearly had been malnourished, along with significant dental disease (Grade IV), broken teeth, and much hair loss. He is being treated with pain medication and supplements for his joint issues, along with Omega 3 and immune-booster supplements. HISTORY Dewey's owner passed away and he was taken to a local shelter.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOB: 8/1/2019My foster mom says I have a small dog personality in a medium sized body. I have been to a trainer and would do best in a home with previous dog experience and lots of patience. I am loyal and sweet to my foster mom but take my role of protector seriously.  I like to go for walks, am housebroken and love hanging out on the couch and watching TV.  I would do best in a home without kids - they are scary! I can't wait to meet you at an upcoming adoption event!  (MB*)    I am spayed, up to date on my vaccines, heart-worm negative and on preventative, and am microchipped.  Adoption fee: $200 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 31, 2023, 7:25 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello, I'm Waylon! I'm about 4 years old, but thats nothing in little dog years. Pawfect rescued me from a person that had way too many of us. Because of that, I am a little shy. I have come a long ways. I love my foster mommy and cuddle with her sometimes. I also let other people pet me and am okay with strangers in the house. I love my foster sisters (bully breeds)! My foster brother is a little annoying but he is just SOOO big (great dane puppy) and has A LOT of energy. My favorite type of dogs are the calmer ones. Those puppies just have too much energy! I love to lay in my 'safe place'. Thats my crate that foster mommy always leaves open for me. When I feel safe I come out and when I need a little alone time I go in. My favorite activity to do is EAT! I love eating. Mommy gives me lots of snuffle mats and I love them! I love to sunbathe outside and run around the yard, because of that a fenced in yard is a must. I would do best with no kids. I'm still a little scared and kids are just so crazy sometimes. I am still learning how to be a loving dog. I am improving every day. Mommy still can't pick me up or walk me on a leash. Mommy says I am getting better each day and I'm ready to go to my forever home. Are you my pawfect match?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 1, 2023, 9:09 am

He came from a hoarding situation so he is shy but sweet. He is learning to become more comfortable with others, but still has a long ways to go. Ibar needs someone who will be patient with him, and give him time to warm up. He has had surgery for his cherry eyes twice but they have come back both times.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 1, 2023, 9:09 am
