Story
Tally is a sweet and funny dog.  She was found running down a dirt road in Talaquah with her companion Oakley.  They were both in pretty bad shape.  With time, good food and care they are ready to find new homes.  Taly is a standard Dachshund so a bit bigger than most think a dachshund should be.  She is smart and listens pretty well.  She is good with other dogs, and seems to ignore cats.September 12, 2026, 8:28 pm

Story
"Holly" is a 2.5 - 3 year old tricolor Dachshund mix who is unfortunately considered hospice. When she arrived to us from another shelter, we immediately determined that she had a heart murmur that is rated 5/6. Due to the high expenses ($10,000 at least) and the chances of survival is not in her favor, the best decision was to give "Holly" the best quality of life as possible. We have her on a medication to help her heart production and good quality low sodium food. She came in with her sister (we believe) "Molly" and we will not be separating them. They kennel together, eat together, play together, and really do enjoy each other. Amazingly, "Holly" shows absolutely no obvious signs of her condition. She is happy, active, and besides the heart murmur, very healthy. We would love to see "Holly" and "Molly" out of the kennels into a loving home where nothing but good days for "Holly." She would be considered a hospice foster to whomever opens their heart and home to her and her sister. Come visit them in the kennels Thursday and Friday 12 pm - 4 pm, and Saturdays 12 pm - 3 pm.

Story
"Molly" is presumed to be the sibling of "Holly" who is our considered hospice with a grade 5/6 heart murmur. We received these girls from another shelter and it was obvious upon arrival that they were a bonded pair. Because of this, we will not separate "Molly" from "Holly." "Molly" is 2.5 - 3 years old. She's sweet, playful, and a very happy go lucky girl. She loves attention and running around the work room area with her sister and kennel staff while morning cleaning is being done. We would love to see these two in a loving home that will allow "Holly" to have nothing but good days, and "Molly" to have nothing but love and comfort when it's just her. Come visit these sweet ladies in the kennels Thursday and Friday 12 pm - 4 pm, and Saturdays 12 pm - 3 pm.

Story
"Rover" came to the ESPCA from Animal Welfare after his stray hold expired. He has been listed as a Rottie/Doxy mix. He's short and long like the Doxy and marked like the Rottie. "Rover" is older (estimated 5 years) and seems set in his way about the dogs he will allow in his circle. Dogs his size and smaller, laid back, not in his face is what he prefers. However, he has gotten grumpy a few times with his compatible dogs, so that is something to know and consider if another dog is in the home. Now, when it comes to people, "Rover" seems to love everyone. Men, women, kids. Every interaction he's had with people have all been positive and he really lights up for belly rubs. The ESPCA kennels are open to the public Thursday and Friday from 12 pm - 4 pm and Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm.

Story
Barney is a quiet boy.  He does have a bit of anxiety. He came in with another dog, and would do best in a home with another dog.  He is a bit slow to warm up but is a very good boy.  He is pee pad and doggy door trained.  He is good with other dogs, ok with cats.  He is selective with children.  He would do best in a home where someone is home a lot.March 14, 2026, 4:47 pm
