Libby is very sweet, but very shy with strangers. She seems to enjoy being petted, but scared of strangers picking her up. She likes women better then men. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly. If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP. If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application. To be pre approved fill out an application at the link below. You are welcome to come in anytime we are open to meet the cats and dogs. If you are preapproved you can adopt on the same day. We are open Monday-Saturday 1-4. Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. https://arfok.org/pages/adoption Adoption fee is $150 for all dogs over 6 months old, $200 for large breed puppies under 6 months, $250 for small breed puppies and some pure breed dogs. All adoptions include, spay/neuter, vaccines, a heartworm test, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park. For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt. They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog. We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane. We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances. Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle. We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver. ##2698790##

Irma Gerd is ready to find her perfect match. This 2 year old, 17 pound dachshund wire haired terrier mix is equal parts spunky and snuggly, with a personality that will keep you smiling. With her adorable scruffy look and those expressive ears, she has a way of capturing hearts instantly. Irma loves to be close to her people and is a total cuddle bug at heart. She’s happiest curled up in your lap, though she’s currently learning that sharing that lap is part of the deal. She has a playful side too and does great with other dogs both her size and bigger, making her a fun addition to a home with canine companions. She is potty trained, kennel trained, and does wonderfully on a leash. Car rides are one of her favorite things, and she makes an excellent little co pilot for errands or adventures. Irma is still working on her manners, so she’ll need a home that will continue to guide her and reinforce her training as she grows into her best self. "Rover" came to the ESPCA from Animal Welfare after his stray hold expired. He has been listed as a Rottie/Doxy mix. He's short and long like the Doxy and marked like the Rottie. "Rover" is older (estimated 5 years) and seems set in his way about being a SINGLE dog. We have tried dog testing him with different types of personality dogs and he has not been accepting of any. However, when it comes to people, "Rover" seems to love everyone. Men, women, kids, have all been positive interactions and he really lights up for belly rubs. The ESPCA kennels are open to the public Thursday and Friday from 12 pm - 4 pm and Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm.

Skye is an adorable 5 year old ish dachshund mix. She weighs 12-13lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. Skye can be a little bit of a diva with other animals and wants to be the boss. She likely would be happiest being a single dog but does play with the other dogs just doesnt like to share her toys or people. Skye will need someone familar with the breed. She will need work on crate and potty training but is a smart little girl. Her favoritate thing is to snuggle up next to you on the couch and sleep under the covers She has done fine with older respectful kids but small kid likely would not be a good idea due to her long back and smaller size. Skye is not cat friendly We do require a physical fence to keep her safe.
